Syphon Filter Omega Strain...Online

I got the latest issue of Game Informer today and the cover story was the new Syphon Filter game. After reading it, this game just jumped onto my must buy list. Some highlights from the article:

1. The main character is one that you create. Gabe Logan is in the game, but not a playable character.
2. All of the single player levels can be played cooperatively online.
3. The developers stress that playing the single player game will "be a deeply engrossing experience; but truth be told, you'll get a lot more out of it playing online with up to three additional teammates at your side."
4. Players can jump online at any time, join a game already in progress, and leave at their leisure. But, just like in the single player game, when playing online, you need to complete levels in order to progress to the next one.
5. By completing missions efficiently, minimizing collateral damage, etc you will ascend in rank. The highest level is Commander-in-Chief which is Gabe's level. By obtaining higher ranks, you will be able to unlock things such as a method for instantaneous headshot targeting and Gabe's classic taser.
6. There are over 100 different firearams.
7. You can't carry a million weapons anymore. Before starting a mission, you get to choose a primary and secondary armament, a melee weapon, and a sidearm. You will also be able to select the type of body armor you need and extra equipment such as grenades and extra clips.
8. Dial up and broadband will be supported, but the developers are unsure of how many players dial up connections will be able to support.
9. Communications wise, the game supports a list of canned action commands and messages can be typed within an external hub. The game will also support the SOCOM headset!

There are a number of screenshots included with the article. They didn't exactly bowl me over, but they're more than adequate.
