Boomtown 3/09/03

That was a great episode. Very intense. I was surprised they let the cop die but I'm sure they'll get his partner before the season is over since Fearless and Stevens both suspect him.

Man, I hope to all hell that NBC has the smarts to renew this show. It doesn't get great ratings, but I think they will grow in time. Great, great episode. I think we all know who the traitor is by the hints they gave us. Next weeks episode looks as though they go after the traitor.

Kind of cool to see 3 of the guys from Band of Brothers in the show.

Boy, has this show gotten 200% better. I stopped watching after the cliched surprise endings, but now I'm glad I'm tuning back in. This show is now rivaling The Shield in intensity.

I hope it does to. I think the fact Kingpin wasn't a success gave it some life for next season but I'm don't have much confidence in NBC. I'm sure they'll cancel it and replace it with Law and Order:Animal Control Unit and that will pull in huge ratings.

I counted four. Lipton and Nixon, like every week, plus Luz shows up again and Gonorrhea appears as the surviving partner. Is there some sort of link between the shows, or is this just a really weird coincidence?

I thought this one was pretty good, and next episode looks like it should be pretty interesting.

Yep their were 4 in this ep.

Graham Yost is one of the creators/executive producer/writer of this and he was also one of the writers for Band of Brothers.

Good episode. I too was surprised that they let the cop die but I was happy to see he did put up a fight at the end. Next weeks episode should be interesting as they go traitor hunting.

4? Wow. I got Donnie Whalberg. Then the one "traitor" cop and the detective with the beard. Who was the 4th that I missed?

"David McNorris" (Neal McDonough) was Buck Compton in BoB.

Assuming you meant Buck Compton instead of Nixon.

I thought this was a great episode, too. This show has an excellent cast. Of course I like to see some of the guys from Band of Brothers work in a different setting. I can totally see NBC not picking up this show, which is stupid because what else is there to watch at 10/9 p.m. central? Dragnet? um, no.

Whose the rat?
Spoiler:
Gonorrhea or Jason Gedrick (of Iron Eagle fame)? I am picking Gonorrhea, because isn't Gedrick a regular cast member?
I missed a couple of minutes towards the beginning so if I missed any clues, someone please let me know. Thanks.

Good news for Boomtown in the overnights (per FutonCritic):

"At 10:00/9:00c, the prospects for "Boomtown" perked up as the drama won its time slot in households (8.3/13) and the 18-49 demo (3.9), beating ABC's "Dragnet" by solid margins (6.9/11, 3.1)"

Gonorrhea. Whalberg looked at him and said he's saying your name. He was saying it because the guy who was going to kill him whispered it in his ear when he told him who sold him out.

Last night's episode was decent, but I miss what the show used to be like. I'm not sure if this has been discussed elsewhere, but has there been a mention of them dumbing down this show like ABC wanted to dumb down Alias. The first half of the season had some weak episodes, but it was enjoyable because the show was like a puzzle where sometimes you wouldn't even understand what was going on until the last 5-10 minutes. The last couple episodes have been very straightforward. Oh well, I guess it's good if it keeps it on the air. I know at least one person who didn't watch the show because she didn't know what was going on most of the time.

Oh really? I must have blinked or something. I thought I caught the entire ending. Thanks MrX.

Forgiven, but only because you have a smoking hot sister.

Great News on the rating I agree they are toning down the time shifting nature of the show, but if thats what they have to do to stay on the air I'm ok with it

Very very good episode. Enjoyed seeing a bunch of the BoB boys together as well. However I hope they don't do that too often as it was a little distracting for me at times.

Spoiler:
Gonorrhea is my pick as the traitor as his NewYork accent just doesn't cut it out here in Boomtown . However they could just pull some random person out of a hat too.

Next week's episode will be fun to see.
