I'm having some problems.

How the heck can I increase my download speed?
I'm on a DSL hookup, yet am only able to upload songs at a snail's pace. I'm serious when I say I sometimes downloaded songs faster on dialup.

My settings:
Simult. downloads: 4
Simult. downloads: 3
Max bw in kilobits to be used for transf. files .... : UNLIMITED
("Do not function as a Suprenode" box is unchecked)

So, is there anything else I can tinker with? I've tried all different times of day and nothing seems to be much different.

Only download from multiple sources. Not from 1 person only. Make sure there is at least 5 people with the same file. Download from people that have broadband. It won't be fast if you are trying to get something from someone with dialup. Don't know what else to tell ya. This thread might get locked to because we aren't suppose to talk about file sharing programs. Just letting ya know.

In the advanced tab, I would limit the number of kilobits to be used because those are for files from you to others. I have the "do not function as supernode" box checked. Also, you may wish to disable sharing of files with other users while you are attempting to d/l. Try that.

what does the supernode do?

and why should it be checked or unchecked?
