It is a fairly new movie (late 90's ?). Three teens, 2 guys and a girl, wreck a car by driving through a guardrail and end up crashing in a lake. They all swim to shore and seem to be fine. Later one of the guys goes back to get a wallet or lighter or something and sees all three of their bodies still in the car at the bottom of the lake. As their bodies become dislodged from the car and float to the surface they disappear from reality. This is all I can remember. Any help would be appreciated.

Sounds kind of like Carnival of Souls, but that was a black and white film from the early 60s (and there were three girls, not two guys and a girl).

It's from an episode of the series Night Visions entitled 'If a Tree Falls ...' Not exactly original, but it was pretty cool.
