Friday the 13th Franchise - Question about some movies ***MINOR SPOILERS***
I just watched FT13 pars 5 and 9 last night for the first time. So now, to date, I've seen parts 1, 5, 6, 9, and 10.
I noticed something that I'm sure everyone and their mother already knows, but the end of one movie does NOT coincide with the beginning of the next one. At the end of 5, Tommy puts on the mask and holds the knife behind Pam when she walks in the room.... camera off... credits rolling. At the beginning of 6, the two kids dig up the grave and see Jason (much like the beginning of 5). Noone buried Jason in a grave at the end of 5, right?
And then theirs the end of part 9. Jason is dragged into hell, right? So where does this frozen Jason come from at the beginning of 10?
I don't really expect the movies to be perfect, but it seems like each director leaves room for carrying on the franchise at the end of each movie, but then the next director does something completely different.
The Halloween movies have good flow and make much more sense as a franchise, since you can watch all the movies in a row, and feel like you're watching one long movie (for the most part).

I know what you mean. There are many plot holes when you watch all the films
My favorite is "Jason has a sister" in #9. Um....didn't Mrs. Vorhees state that Jason was her only child in #1?

My favorite is how Jason gets a replacement mask in the first scene of 8 and then later it has the gouge from part 4 show up on it later.
