Shania Thumbs Up! or Down Post your reviews here!

Just got back from Circuit City where I purchased my copy of Up! for $9.99 soon as I got in the house I tore open the package. First thing I see is a cute little insert from Shania which I thought was way cool! Explaining the different versions.
Since RED was on top I popped that in first and it is awesome just only half way through it and I know this will get heavily played.
I will listen to GREEN tonight and update this post at that time. According to the insert there are BLUE songs that "are more rhythmic with an Eastern influence way fun!" available for download on Shania's site. I plan on checking those out later as well.
SO all in all I give a BIG THUMBS UP to UP!

Not as good as Come On Over, but still great.

Country version all the way.

Nope, this is not even an enchanced cd. Just the 2 discs Red and Green.

No, they planned on having a DVD with the release but now the DVD looks to be a Walmart Exclusive and comes out Black Friday.

Are you going to have to buy anything to get that DVD?

The cassettes are available seperate but the CDs are together. 38 tracks for around $10 is a great bargain considering if they'd been seperate, I'd bought both anyway. It wouldn't surprise me if this doesn't outsell her other CDs since 2 discs sets count as 2 meaning if she sells 2 million copies of this CD, it will actually count as 4 million copies.

I don't think so because it's already up for preorder at walmart.com for that price.

I've only listened to RED, but so far I think it's very good. B+

I think it's good for country music to have crossovers like Shania. I'm not a big country fan, but I will listen to the GREEN one tonight.

It may not be Nashville country, but I probably wouldn't even hear it at all if I didn't like her pop stuff.

It doesn't hurt that she's freakishly hot. I can't wait to see her on Letterman tonight (11/19)!

Doesn't she always look good??..Even dressed 'down" she looks better than most women

That Mutt Lange is such a lucky man!!

I wonder why he doesn't do interviews or let his picture be taken..He's a total recluse!

I'm on song 18 (rock side), but I found only 3-4 songs that really grabbed me. Otherwise, the production drowned her voice (which sounds a bit on the nasally, scratchy side), and the other songs just blend in the background like muzak.

Mutt Lange is really Bryan Adams and he doesn't want anyone to know the truth.

Have you ever seen him? I shudder just thinking about it. [.......shudder.......]

She is fine as hell though.

I finally listened to all of the rock version and it is okay, but the country version is better, IMO.

I still can't stop looking at the pic that is on the inlay where you find the country cd (where she is in front of a blue circle. Those boots are sexy on her.

If she sells two (2) million units of "Up" then its two million not four (4). Multi disc sets do not count as two, three, or four times the number sold.

Wow, I always understood it to be that multi-discs were counted as more (meaning 2 disc set counted as 2 not 1). Did this change in recent years or have I always been wrong?

I'll try and look it up.

I caught her on Leno - was not impressed with her at all right now. Maybe just a bad night.

EDIT: So far I have read that.....

Confusing but - for scan purposes it is actual units sold (not discs) but for certification (Gold Platinum etc) it is by number of discs not units.

I recorded her on Letterman last night and finally got around to watch it tonight.

WTF was she wearing? Completely ruined the "mood" I was in.

I mean I don't care if you are cold, you do not wear something that ugly...ever.

Does anyone think of Abba's "Dancing Queen" when they hear "C'est la vie" on this new Shania album?

It should be. It's the truth.

Well maybe the ugly women can wear it, but fine women like Shania should never wear black coulots(sp), long black boots, and a bright orange vest over a big shirt...

...ever!!!
