So...what the heck do you have to do to get the DVD, buy the album again? I hope not.

My reaction to the songs on the new album:

1. Up! - possible single
2. I'm Gonna Getcha (Good) - is a single
3. Not Just Another Pretty Face - possible single
4. Juanita - Spanish guitar vibe, okay.
5. Forever and for Always - a bit too sappy.
6. Ain't No Particular Way - sounds recycled.
7. It Only Hurts When I'm Breathing - more sappy.
8. Nah! - derivatively familiar
9. (Wanna Get To Know You) That Good! - so-so, but possible late single.
10. C'est La Vie - shades of "Dancing Queen", but funny lyrics.
11. I'm Jealous - so-so
12. Ka-Ching - Reminded me of "Money" at the begining. Consumerism gone amok.
13. Thank You Baby! (For Making Someday Come So Soon) - Overblown and familiar.
14. Waiter! Bring Me Water! - A little too cute.
15. What A Way To Wanna Be! - Reminded me of "She Bop" but good bouncy tune.
16. I Ain't Goin' Down! - Music video material (tells a story)
17. I'm Not in the Mood (To Say No) - possible single (sounds like a Billy Ocean song "Get into my car")
18. In My Car (I'll Be The Driver) - just a goofy song with the patented Foreigner guitar riff.
19. When You Kiss Me - way too slow and syrupy for my taste (If I was holding a fork, I'd hope someone would put a cork on it, or I'd hurt myself while listening to this song).

So, there's a possible 7 songs that I'd release as singles.

That was my reaction when I first heard the song.

Also, does anyone think she's overdoing it with the exclamation points in the song titles? 9 out of 19 have them. Kind of reminds me of that Seinfeld episode where Elaine broke up with her boyfriend because of his sparing use of exclamation points.

Hi, I just picked up the Shania Twain DVD with the new single "I'm gonna getcha good" today at Walmart. The dvd is located in the music video section with the CD's and is priced at $6.44. The other songs that are on the dvd are:

You win my Love.
You're still the one.
From this moment on.
That don't impress me much.
Man! I feel like a woman.
I'm gonna getcha good.

So if you already have the platinum collection, you already have all of the other videos except for the new single.

I went back to K-Mart and exchange my first copy of the 2-CD set for another one because the Green album had this little bitty speck underneath the surface that was causing song 12 to play very fast for 15 seconds around the 1 minute mark of the song.

I found out there are 2 different CD case types for Shania:

1. the first one has the black plastic Dual-CD holder with the hinge on the right hand side. I prefer this case.

2. the second case has the black plastic Dual-CD holder with no hinge, and it opens from right to left, and there the plastic folds open so you get get to the 2nd side. This is bad because repeated opening and folding will weaking the plastic until one day it falls off.

I had the 1st kind, and then when I exchanged it, I got the 2nd type of case. After figuring out how the 2nd case worked, I promptly went back into K-Mart and asked to swap out cases so I got my 1st case back.

On the Platinum Collection, ain't one of those videos the remix and not the country version. I think it was That don't impress me much. Is it the remix version here? If not, I might buy the DVD.

I picked up the album the other day mainly because Time hailed it as the year's best pop album- by far. I quite like most of it, if I can get past that guilty felling I always get when I listen to something that poppy and catchy. I had to laugh at Nah! because it's so "Mutt" Lange, it's Pour Some Sugar on Me with Shania on lead vocals. If I were ABBA, I'd be calling my lawyers right now over C'est La Vie, the biggest major-artist rip-off since Pearl Jam recorded Learning to Fly.

I really like the idea of the red and green discs. It's the coolest "extra" I've ever seen on a CD, almost giving you a double album. It's fun to see how the songs get reinterpreted Are the vocal tracks the same on the two discs? I couldn't tell.

i love the pop version (red). i have the international version (blue) which i do not really like becos the the indian tabla beat and traditional indian instruments rhythm in the 19 songs tends to sound the same after a while. i eagerly await the country version which i ordered from amazon.ca recently.

I went ahead and bidded on a World Mix edition (red and blue albums) just because the 2 cuts I heard off the blue album are pretty funky sounding.

You can download 2 cuts of the blue album by going to Shania's website and downloading them off there.

I haven't heard the album, but I imagine it's VERY catchy. Mutt Lang is the undisputed master of catchy material. The guy knows how to write a commercially successful song. It's almost like working with him guarantees you a platinum album.

All the songs are credited to Twain/ Lange. I wonder how much input Shania really had in the songwriting.

"Shania, honey, does this sound OK to you?"
"yup"
"OK, well that's another song finished"
Actually, my hunch is that Shania contributed all those exclamation marks.

Don't get me wrong she's pretty good, and very attractive, but her marrying Mutt was the smartest carreer move since Rebecca Pigeon married David Mammet.

Well, after listening to the green CD (this coming from someone who was first a country and then a pop fan) I couldn't stand the musical on the first song and the second and third turned me off.

The red CD, especially the first three songs, are getting a lot of replay though
