Your favorite Heavy Metal cover tune (?)
So what is YOUR favorite Heavy Metal (or Hard Rock) cover tune?
I love Armored Saint's version of the early Judas Priest song, "Never Satisfied." That is a GREAT cover tune!
(FYI, the new Erik's Metal Shop is an all-cover tune special. Show #31 - http://www.hitekradio.com/erikshop.htm )

Voi Vod - Astronomy Domine by Pink Floyd on Nothing Face.
Faith No More - War Pigs by Black Sabbath on The Real Thing.
Slayer - Undisputed Attitude, cover album, the whole disc kicks much ass.
Celtic Frost - Mexican Radio by Wall of Voodoo on Into The Pandemonium.
Fantomas - The Director's Cut, cover album. Movie themes, not really a metal cover of a metal tune, but it rules.
Mr. Bungle - They cover just about anything live, from Dead Kennedys to Loverboy to Britney Spears.
Anthrax - God Save The Queen by The Sex Pistols and Parasite by Kiss.
Nuclear Assault - Good Times, Bad Times by Led Zeppelin on Survive.
I'm sure there are many, many more, but that's a quick list of a few that come to mind...

Pat Boone, Enter Sandman
I'll second this. I got this disc in the Dark Genesis box set and it rocks (so does the rest of the set).

I also recommend picking up Tribute To The Gods by Iced Earth. Great CD full of cover songs

Kinda passed thru my metal-listening phase some years back, so I haven't been well-versed in the more current music these days, but I'm very keen on the cover of Black Sabbath's "Supernaut" by 1000 **** DJs (a short-lived Ministry/Trent Reznor collaboration).

Soundgarden's "Rusty Cage" as covered by Johnny Cash...
Marilyn Manson's covers of "Sweet Dreams" and "Tainted Love"
Type O Negative's cover of "Cinnamon Girl" and a Beatles' medley of sorts they did on the "World Coming Down" album...."Daytripper" was the main song, with another Beatle tune thrown in the middle of it.
Metallica's cover of some Black Sabbath tune that eludes me...
That's all I can think of for now....

Here it is a few days later...and it dawns upon me that I have forgotten something. The greatest band that EVERYONE has ripped off!!!
Ozzy stole a tune....Dio stole a tune....Twisted Sister hijacked a tune! Is there anyone who HASN'T stolen from the great Fozzy?
