I can honestly say I have never heard of a Mother/Son dance at a wedding. I have seen mothers and sons dancing together but it wasn't made into a big deal. Usually the big deal is the Father/Daughter dance. There are a lot of songs to go with that but I can't think of any for a mother and son.

What kind of music? I can probably give you a ton of examples, but I need to know what genre you'd prefer.

That's a really tough call. What kind of music do you plan on a t the wedding? The best I can come up with off the top of my head is:

Nat King Cole: Straighten Up and Fly Right.

A good short song might be Cat Stevens: The Wind

totally sappy: Alison Krauss: Baby of Mine (that's the same song in Dumbo, where the mother sings to Dumbo.....like I said, this one is tough!)

If the wedding is a little crazy....Barenaked Ladies: What a Good Boy

Bobby Hebb: Sunny

Edith Piaf: Non je ne regrette rien

Frank Sinatra: You're Nobody 'till Somebody Loves You

Give these a shot. Let me know if you use any of them.

Off the top of my head I would say "A Song For Mama" by Boys II Men, or "Sweet Child of Mine," the Sheryl Crow cover of course.

There are probably a million songs you could choose depending on the situation. If you are up for a song you might not recognize, I have one suggestion. I got married 2 months ago and my wife danced with her father to this song:

Fernando Ortega "Don't Let Me Come Home a Stranger "

You might be able to download it to hear it. It's a fairly short instrumental song that is beautiful. It was a very touching moment during our reception and this song helped make it so.

Dear Mama - Tupac Shakur

A Song for Mama - Boyz II Men, was used at a wedding I attended and it was pretty nice.
