Need help identifying a pop song from the 90s
Okay, it sounds like the dude from Roxette (maybe it is, I don't know)
It is a cross between the "rap" part of One Week by Bare Naked Ladies and actual rap. Sung mainly in a wisper, with fairly even cadence and tone (maybe even like "we didn't start the fire" but much more mellow)
The song goes on and on with this kind of stuff, but then the chorus is more smooth and melodic like
Ooooh I, Oooh I, close to you (or something...I suck...sorry)
Any ideas?

Gosh. The chorus isn't the same, but the only thing that I can think of is Primitive Radio Gods, "Standing Outside A Broken Phone Booth With Money In My Hand." Anything else to go on?
Another possibility is Love & Rockets, "So Alive."
I've never heard it, but the Brand New Heavies have a song called "Close to You."

I wish I had more to go on. I just listened to both of those you mentioned and it isn't them.
Naturally when I heard it on the radio they didn't mention who it was. I would say it is dated between '93 and '99

(Verse 1)
Anytime I need to see your face I just close my eyes
And I am taken to a place
Where your crystal minds and magenta feelings
Take up shelter in the base of my spine
Sweet like a chica cherry cola
I don't need to try to explain
I just hold on tight and If it happens again
I may move so slightly to the arms
And the lips and the face
Of The Human Cannonball that
I need to I want to...
(Bridge)
Come stand a little bit closer
Breathe in and get a bit higher
You'll never know what hit you when
I get to you
(Chorus)
Ooh I want you, I don't know if I need you but
Ooh I'd die to find out
Ooh I want you, I don't know if I need you but
Ooh I'd die to find out
(Verse 2)
I'm the kind of person who endorses a deep commitment
Getting comfy getting perfect is what I live for
But a look and then a smell of perfume
It's like I'm down on the floor
And I Don't know what I'm in for
Conversation has a time and place in the interaction
Of a lover and a mate but the time of talking
Using symbols, using words can be likened
To a deep sea diver who is swimming with a raincoat
(Bridge)
(Chorus)
Ooh, ahh...
Ooh, ahh...
(Verse 1)
(Chorus)
So can we find out?
(Chorus x2)

Yes I agree, it is most likely "I Want You" by Savage Garden. Which for the most part is most famous for the "chica cherry cola" line in it. It was a group of two white guys, one from England and one from Australia. I think they split up though, I heard a new song on the radio just the other day by just one half of the group.

WINNER!
Yep, just took a listen to it, and that is the one. You guys are so awesome. I suck so hardcore at remembering lyrics, but do well with beat, etc. but there is no good way to communicate that online. Fortunately, you guys are better than I suck.
Thanks again.
