Just got back from a midnight showing, though, and I must say it's a damn_fine film. Definitely one of the best of the year, and I can't wait to see it again tomorrow. Go PJ!

I mean, really. Lord of the Rings? Sure, it seems to be a fine film from what people are saying (I'll be seeing it tomorrow) but I offer the following for consideration:
Grand Illusion
Vertigo
Citizen Kane
Seven Samurai
Taxi Driver
The Rules of the Game
The 400 Blows
The list goes on and on. I doubt that LOTR would break into the top ten of any serious fan of the cinema.

At this thread/poll...Greatest movie ever made, no... Movie of the year, no... Entertaining, well-made, leaves you interested enough to want to see the remaining two films and make you think about buying the eventual DVD, yes... yes it is....
