X-box 1st party controllers and Cel Damage in stores now

Wal-mart had the first party X-box controllers for $39.92. Cell Damage was under some PS2 game and had no price, but I'm sure it's $49.9x. EB and KB also had the controllers and the games, but I didn't look at the prices there. I'm sure there the same though (well except that it will 99 cents instead of 92 )

It sucks how expensive controllers are now, they had price tags up for the Gamecube first party controllers and they were almost as high at $34.86.

They had tags up for 3rd party controllers for each system for S19.9x. I'm not sure what brand they were though.

They also had tags up for some accessories that weren't in stock yet.

The X-box dvd remote kit is 29.9x there. Unfortunately , I can't remember the prices of the mem cards, rf adapters and other stuff.

Wow! In stores already thats neat.

Eep! I know what you mean about controller prices I remember back in the SNES days when I was a cheap person and I thought $15.99 was too much for extra controllers ,

hopefully the regular controllers for future consoles won't surpass the price of games in price....that sure would be something...it would have to be one heck of a good controller, I mean the works......Rumble, Analog, LCD, motion sensing, ethernet port.......

Didn't see the remote, but they had the 1st party controllers and a slew of cable kits. Didn't see the VGA adapter, but I might pick up an rf adapter for $10 on the 15th. I just got a box adapter, but I might let my roommate keep that in the living room with his dvd player.

I'm not very familiar with what the GC or PS2 controllers come with, but at least the 1st party Xbox controllers have 2 analog sticks and force-feedback built right in. Big, but they feel soooo good.

The PS2 and GC controllers have 2 sticks (well one of the GC's is a camera stick, I'm really not sure if it is a true second analog stick or not as I haven't got to use one yet) and rumble.

I played Oddworld for about 15 mins. and I hated the X-box controller. I mean I would get used to it eventually, just like I did with the awful Dreamcast controller. This is even bulkier and clunkier than the DC controller. I hated the slick buttons too, my fingers slipped off a couple of times, and the two smaller buttons on the end are kind of stupid. They should have been the same size as the other 4 buttons.

That said, I hope the GC controller turns out good. All the reviews have been good, but I haven't got to check it out yet. It seems to be shaped/sized similar to the PS Dual Shock controllers and I love those. I'm just a little skeptical about the button layout. They didn't have the GC hooked up yet, though I saw a GC for demo only box behind the counter, so it ought to be hooked up soon.

The buttons (aside from pad and sticks) seemed a wee bit slick, but you don't use them excessively for Halo (mostly just the stick, d-pad and triggers) so I'm not really sure. I really want to test DOA3 first to see how the buttons work, but either way, Gamestop does have a 7 day return period so if things take a turn for the worst, I can always trade it in or exchange it for credit. Still, here's hoping for no problems ;p

In the mall I work at... gamestop had a ton of accessories from Interact. Eb had the the 1st party controllers, cables, etc... and had all the games mentioned above plus Fusion Frenzy (which was what was in the playable Xbox. I played it, it was fun but had some serious slow downs.

I got a Gamecube controller from Japan and I love it. It is much more comfortable than the xbox (which i think is comfortable), and the ps2. and I have big hands so i was surprised it was this good. button layout is very good in my opinion. the only button that is slightly awkward is the Z button. buts its not too bad

mljones,

I'm glad to see another positive review. I'm sure I'll like it, the button layout looks strange, but I'm sure it's very functional. Miyamoto designed it after all.
