Their sound is like the Beach Boys. The new album goes beyond that.

Weird, unique sound. Not sure I could listen to an entire album though.

No, but I'm pretty sure they've done a Bronx talk show before...or maybe that was Brooklyn? Either way, the skit sucked.

After the insipid Bronx girls sketch I was about to shut it down and go to bed early. The Trump bit made me stay the execution for now. But for the most part this show has absolutely sucked. Another horrible episode of SNL, period.
Jeremy Piven coming next week though.

This one gets a B. JG was a good host, he gets a B+ for himself.
Bush
I groaned when I saw the presidential seal to open the show, but this one wasn’t so bad. Bush talks about how he’s sending everyone in uniform over to Iraq. The thing about Sudeikis though, is that if I didn’t know it was Bush, I would have no idea who he was doing. Not a great impersonation. C+
Monologue
Several gay cowboys in the audience, but that was to be expected. JG sang, which is not unusual. And Jake has been working out. B-
Deep House Dish
The house music show. Same old same old. Samberg as the co-host sounds like Will Ferrell doing Harry Carrey. C+
Bronx Beat
Poehler and Rudolph had it dead-on as the two female hosts from da Bronx. Yes, they really are like that. They were both great, and it was pretty funny too. Best of the night. A
Donald Trump
Refuses to talk about Rosie O’Donnell, but brings her up every chance he gets. God, he’s such a fucking load in real life. B+
Cool food
JG and Wiig on a date to a restaurant so cool, the meatballs and chicken parm and wearing sunglasses and playing instruments. They also scream as they’re eaten. This week’s WTF skit. C+
Laser Cats 2
Samberg and Hader film a super cheesy digital short to please Lorne Michaels. I liked how they filmed their sci-fi adventure in the corridors, with NBC employees walking in the background. B+
Stock Footage Awards
They need to try a little harder. This wasn’t that funny, and it’s really a stupid idea in the first place. C
Weekend Update
Armisen as Steve Jobs and Rudolph as Whitney Houston came in to waste my time for no reason. Best joke was about the death of the creator of Scooby-Doo, so now he’s a “G-g-g-g-ghost!” B-
Law & Order acting class
Funny bit about the bit actors who have 3 lines on the show. Accurate too, because EVERY New York actor has been on one of the shows at some time. Armisen comes on doing a Sam Waterston impression, which took a minute to kick in. The audience didn’t recognize it either. B+
Blind date
Married couple sets up two people, both of whom are in wheelchairs. Harmless and okay. B-
Kaplan Liebowitz and Dolemite
Law firm ad with two Jews and one pimp daddy. Hard to give a score, because it was a time-filler about 45 seconds long. B
