The Lost Experience - Official Thread

Thought one thread for this would be better than discussing it in the weekly threads.

Just for starters:

http://www.thehansofoundation.org/ seems to be the only site involved so far. I'm sure more will be popping up as more clues are revealed.

The # in the US is 1-877-HANSORG.

The UK # is 0800 66 66 40.

Can someone explain what the heck this is? I fast forwarded through all the commercials. How do we even know this has anything to do with lost? *clueless*

It's kind of like an online/telephone scavenger hunt of sorts, the way it seems. It's something being done by ABC, UK's Ch. 4, and an Australian station. It is supposed to be a parallel storyline of sorts, and while not required to know what's happening in the show, it will allow you to uncover some of the mysteries of the island.

Replace the numbers with letters (1=A, 2=B, etc.)....you get:

MISSING
ORGANS

Not sure what the rest of the characters are, maybe nothing.

Here's a site that has written out all of what is said on the phone, and even translated it - http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Hanso_Phone_Line

Some of the more interesting things:

-Geronimo Jackson and the album "Magna Carta" are mentioned a few times on the "radio station." This was the album that Hurley and Charlie found in the hatch, and Charlie was surprised he hadn't ever heard of them.

-"I will be unreachable for the next 3 weeks, however, for those employees of Paik Heavy Industries and Widmore Corporation engaged in active projects..." There was a Widmore Construction sign outside of the building Charlie was shooting his commercial in. Sun's pregnancy test was made by Widmore Labs. Sun's maiden name is Paik.

-"If you're calling about the inquiry into the Korean offshore project, please hang up and contact our legal department..." Sun's father (Paik) is of course from Korea.

Start at the bottom of this blog and work your way up. Lots of clues.

That blogspot site is great. Thanks for the link! Mp3s of the phone messages, and everything. Excellent work being done there.

Here's my own LOST blog, which is a collection of LOST observations from around the net. I mostly made it for myself and some fellow LOST fanatics, but you are all welcome to visit and comment. I do give myself all the credit for the supercool name.

Honestly, this is way more exciting to me than last year's Oceanic 815 site. This should provide hours of snooping for me. God I love viral marketing!

BTW - it's stuff like this (along with the name of the book - Bad Twin), that makes me believe that the Losties have been cloned.

New info:
On the phone call, Persphone breaks in and says something about the numbers.
If you go to http://persephone.thehansofoundation.org/ you get this:

106 98 111 32 117 98 115 32 114 115 110 102 32 102 118 32 102 118 101 71 32 49 32 108 110 90 32 116 117 98 46 83 69 71 32 103 110 32 111 118 32 116 98 73

Guess those are the numbers we need, now we just have to decode them.

The frequent use of the number 32 catches my eye. 32 is the ASCII equivalent of a space. The other numbers appear to fit the ranges of the characters a-z and A-Z. So if we use the numbers to represent the ASCII equivalents, we get:

jbo ubs rsnf fv fveG 1 lnZ tub.SEG gn ov tbl

Is this helpful to anyone?? Certainly not to me at this moment. Only 49 and 46 are outside the character ranges. One lead to a period, indicating this could be one huge anagram? The other leads to the number '1.' There are also 5 capital letters in this....

Just a thought.

When do you hear Persephone mention the #s? What option did you select?

And does it directly mention http://persephone.hansofoundation.org ? Or where was that revealed?

Plus on the main Hanso page, there is a press release.

it was in some of the calls when you picked the option for general information (I think it was option #1) she says something like "it's all in the numbers". I don't know exactly how the website was found, I saw it on a Lost forum, and thought you all would be interested.

ETA: I guess the web address was found at the bottom of the press release on the Hanso site. You had to highlight it on the bottom of the page.

so seeing this on one of the blogs i sent an email to [email protected] and got jack's out of office message. If you scroll down the number 42 is listed and if you go a bit further it says MCB. Any ideas what MCB could be?
Edit-I wonder if it's legit, he says he's "on holiday". I don't think I've ever heard an American (who isn't from another country) refer to a vacation as a holiday. I guess we'll see if this is part of the game or something a fan created.

Apparently, there's a number shift in the code and it translates to:

HAS WIN HOST PC IN NIL URGE. 8, not 1 and 6. (Not my doing)

Rearanging the letters, you get.

SIGN IN WITH HANSO PR CLUE. 8, not 1 and 6.

Most of us are interpreting this as meaning we should log onto the site today, May 8th.

This was in a bunch of papers (in Chicago, Boston, Philly, SF, among others) on (I think) Tuesday.

Also...go to the Executive Bios page, under Hanso's pic - October 28, 2003 is underlined, click it.

While on the Hanso site, reset your clock to 15 or 42 past the hour. Then look at the clock on the site. It changes to "OB:EY" or something like that, and is a link to the subLYMONal site.

There have been various references to Widmore Corporation or Widmore Labs.

http://www.widmoregroup.com

Go to the 'Corporate' link and you'll notice a couple of Dharma execs (Mittelwerk and McIntyre) are on the board.

You will also notice Anthony B. Cooper who is Locke's Father !!!!!
