HOLY SHIT! As a Ridley Scott fanatic, this is obviously a must, and seemingly the original release is also worthy of retaining.

Thanks for the news. I'm a big fan of Gladiator.

Curious to see what's included from the first DVD.

I wonder what the deleted footage marker will be? I hope it's not an annoying flashing object that pops up when a restored scene comes on.

Very happy with my 2 disc with the DTS, depending on the audio specs I may DD on this since I am such a huge fan of the film, we will see. Would love to have a 6.1 on this one.

Good news! My orginal 2 disc is starting to crack because of the stupid central holder for the first disc. That's a good a reason as any to get the new release.

I'll take one disc with the 17 minutes of extra footage, and a cool case for $14.99, Alex.

I came across a used copy of the 2 disc edition and noticed the first disc was cracked a bit too. Was this a common thing with it?

Wow, that looks awesome I hope it has DTS though, and the extended version is done by branching, not some naff icon. (Shaolin Soccer HK disc). Whats the "deleted footage marker" thing about?

I may upgrade if this is true

If it has DTS, I'm all over it. A 200min. documentary! Holy shit! So I guess the great commentary won't be carried over? Bummer, that may make me keep the original release. But if the price is right on this one, I may DD.

I don't know. If they're cramming the extended version of a movie that was already almost 3 hours on 1 disc, we're likely to be losing audio tracks.

The Theatrical version of Gladiator was 155min. No where near 3 hours, so this version will be 172min. Still, not three hours. If the T2 UE can offer three versions of a 155min. movie and DDEX and DTSES tracks, and a commentary. I think they can squeez Gladiator on there with DTS and a commentary.

same here.

This documentary looks really interesting: "Strength and Honor: Creating the World of Gladiator" Extended-length (200 mins) documentary features never-before-seen footage.

If the extended version is done via branching I will get it but not if its' not. Nothing worse on a film like that than having a naff marker pop up every time you want to see an extended scene.
Maybe it just means marked as in indicated in the menu? LOTR EE's does this, in the menu chapter selection it tells you which scenes are new/extended.
