Your #1 favorite 80's song

We all have more than one favorite, but if you had to shift one song to the top of the heap, which would it be?

For me, it would definitely have to be Kyrie by Mr. Mister (from the 1985 album Welcome To The Real World, peaked at #1 in 1986).

This song still gets my attention, even after the nth time listening. Never get tired of it.

Are you talking favorite song performed in the 80's or favorite pop song from the 80's?

Favorite all time song from the 80's: The Cure - Secrets.

Favorite pop song from the 80's: New Order Bizarre Love Triangle.

I personally hate that song, for some reason. So many to choose from. Right now it's:

Style Council - Walls Come Tumbling Down

That could change by tomorrow, though.

That's just too hard to pick. I could maybe pick an 80s song for different genres... best pop song, rock song, metal song, new wave song, punk song, etc. But even THAT would be a challenge. Otherwise it's too apples and oranges for me. I can't imagine picking between Motley Crue and the Go-Gos, for instance.

I can only narrow it down to two:

"Love Will Tear Us Apart" - Joy Division
"That's Entertainment" - The Jam

Hmmm. Can I break it down in genres?

Soft rock-Crowded House "Don't Dream it's over"
Punk-Suicidal Tendencies "Institutionalized"
Rap-Eric B. And Rakim "Eric B. Is President"
Metal-Megadeth "In My Darkest Hour"
Slow Jam-The Jets "You got it all"
Alternative-Kommunity FK "Something inside me has died"
R&B-Sheila E. "A Love Bizzare"
New Wave-New Order "Real Life"
Hair Band-Bang Tango "Someone Like You"
Dance-M/A/R/S "Pump up the Volume"

Yep, my mistake.

Life in a Northern Town by Van Halen would also be right up there.
