How good of an actor is Peter Sarsgaard?

I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone of his performances that I have seen. He is such a good actor and not all consuming so as to loom large in every single movie he is in. He gives such great low key performances that I just enjoy so much.

Most recently "Garden State", but also in "Shattered Glass" and "Empire" I am just totally mesmerized by his understated, simple, 'you know this guy' acting. Something about it that draws me to watching "Shattered Glass" multiple times. He is the type of actor that makes those around him better, i.e. Hayden Christensen in SG. He was also great in "Boys Don't Cry". I don't think there isn't anything I wouldn't see him in.

He's one of the best young actors working today.

Agree. He was very good in "Boys Don't Cry", "The Center of the World", "Shattered Glass", and most recently "Kinsey".

He is really good in Garden State. Does anyone else think that he could be a voice double for John Malkovich?

Totally awesome in Garden State, He seems to have a pretty laid back personality( I gathered that from the interviews on the dvd)

He's a terrific actor. I hated him in Boys Don't Cry and felt really sorry for him in Shattered Glass, so there's very little he can't do.

He's doing a fantastic job rehabilitating most of the major actors from the last two Star Wars films.

Actually, he's been a very underrated actor for years - I'm glad to see that he's finally getting what is rightly due to him.

He was brilliant in Shattered Glass. I think he should have gotten the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award and he wasn't even nominated.

He did win a whole mess of critics' awards.

He was great in both Shattered Glass and Empire. He was also good in The Salton Sea w/ Val Kilmer.

He's a really terrific actor, no doubt about it.

What's kinda funny is that, on the back of the Shattered Glass DVD box, all the film fest awards featured are for Sarasgaard.

He was great in Shattered Glass, stealing it from Star Wars Boy, IMO.

Since you guys love him so much, go see Kinsey. You can get a pretty good view of his wee-wee.

I like him a lot too. I've seen his work in Shatterd Glass, Garden State, and most recently Kinsey, and I hope to see more of him in the future.

Funny. Someone mentioned how he sounds similar to John Malkovich. I have thought that since the first time I saw him in The Man in the Iron Mask in which he actually plays Malkovich's son. I was young at the time but I kept thinking during the movie "i wonder if that's really his son" haha.

A great actor!
