Just finished:

Very good, but not as good as the previous two books Lost Light and The Narrows in my opinion. The stories seemed to have more of an edge when he was out of the police department for a couple of books. Not really sold on the Cold Case stories or Kiz as his main partner.
Next up more Agatha Christie:

Just finished reading--and about to start a thread if there isn't one yet--Steve Berry's The Third Secret
After seeing the teaser for Goblet, I'm in the mood to re-read all 5 Harry Potter books. So those are next.

Almost finished with Prentice Alvin the 3rd book of the Alvin Maker series by Orson Scott Card. I can't stop reading this author's books.
Last night I picked up 1776 by David McCullough. I'll try to hold off reading it until July (when I'll be in the mood for American history).

I just finished this:

It was ok ... I didn't care for the jumping narrative perspective, and the fact the book's packaging is extremely misleading. It has very little to do with aliens or an invasion. It's more "military vs rednecks".
I also recently finished this:

It's the first book I read by this author. I was in the mood for a "popcorn" sci-fi/action adventure -- I like authors like Michael Crichton, Preston and Childe, James Rollins, and Jeff Long, and Matthew Reilly kept coming up in those "if you liked ... you should try ..." recommendations. I might have liked this book -- if I was 12. I knew it wouldn't be high-brow, but this was far more idiotic than I was hoping for. And the author has this annoying style of italicizing action when they're being described like a 12-year old talking about the "cool" parts of a movie he saw. Like: He was surrounded by dozens of man-eating crocodiles, and knew he was a goner but then he jumped out of the water, running across their backs, before leaping in the air and grabbing the landing pad of a passing helicopter!!!

I was on a book ban until the next Harry Potter came out but I thought it was coming out in JUN. Now I might read City of the Dead or do a Harry Potter run.
July will be nice because the next Song of Ice and Fire book comes out then also. Feel sorry for you poor souls that have not read it in awhile. There sure was a lot of stuff going on to keep track of.

About Matthew Reilly's Temple:
Well, if you have it already, by all means read it! Looking at reviews on amazon there are certainly tons of people who love Matthew Reilly's writing style. I just don't happen to be one of them. A funny observation -- many of the glowing reviews at amazon are filled with typos! What could that say about the target audience?
Despite the length, it was a very fast read. And I was liking the book alright until about the halfway point. It started to lose me when (really minor spoilers follow, but I'll black out to be safe)
I won't think less of you if you like this book. Well, maybe a little less, but what do you care. I'm just some anonymous guy on the internet!

Just started:

Up next:

and

I'm a slow reader (not much time to), so it will probably take me awhile - but I am definitely looking forward to all three.
Just finished reading Running With Scissors for the third time (a few friends read it and I wanted to brush up - I am glad I did: we had a hearty discussion on it). It's a book, like ELECTION, that can be read over and over again, IMO. I usually don't reread anything.
