f.y.e weekly New Releases pricing (often with MIR) and more deals

Forgive me if it's been brought up before and if this is a regular promotion, but I just came across it. Don't know how long it's been running or when it ends, but as always: YMMV.
My local FYE had a couple bins set up with bargain titles (namely Sony/Columbia) regularly marked for $4.88. Some titles I can recall were standard dump bin stuff (I Know What You Did Last Summer, The New Guy), but they let you pick out one of them for free if you bought any title over $10.
I used one of those virtual rebate gift cards to purchase The Mist 2-Disc set, and even after the $10 deduction (which the employees were totally clueless about - they only accepted it after one guy vouched that he'd 'heard of' this rebate program, but never seen someone use it) the DVD still cost more than $18. I picked up Lucky McKee's The Woods for free, which took the sting out of the high retail price considering I'd been wanting to see it.

I finally got my virtual merchandise "card" emailed to me after 4 months, but it says I can print it out and use it at the store (a good deal since the rebates are better in the store than online) but WHAT do I print out? All I have is this email with the card number on it? Surely, they won't take that in the store will they?
I can't seem to find where to check the balance online either. The only thing they have is a gift card balance at the FYE rebate site but even though this is a 16 digit number when I put it in I get a message that the "tracking number is not found".

The print out of the email is all that you should need to redeem in-store. I was able to use it in-store in the past. However, the cashier was confused and had to call her manager over before they would take it. Although unlabeled, there should be an 8 digit number located under the 16 digit number in your email. That is the pin number. You can check your balance here-

Excellent, thank you for the informative response!
I think I will print out that FYE page with the balance showing to take to the store, as it looks more official than just the email.

So FYE says that my rebate is invalid because I supposedly forgot to send the UPC. Of course I did send the UPC and they screwed up/are lying. I photocopied everything, but what do I do with it?

Call them, you will be fine. This happens a lot expecially when the upc is left loose in the envelope.
Kudos to your photocopies

You can also contact them via their online contact form at www.fyerebates.com . They'll email you back and say that because you are a "valued customer", they are pleased to inform you that your rebate is now valid.

Well, after being told by no less than four employees (at three different stores) that it wasn't possible to get a rebate for "Sweeney Todd" (with one even saying that if they offered discounts like that she'd "be out of a job")... My $5 arrived in the mail today.

It's just another hoop that you have to jump through to get your rebate. As you stated, they are hoping that you don't have the perseverance to follow up on the rebate.

Wow, great deal on "Gladiator." After missing out on the $5 deal at Dollar General, I'll definitely have to do this. When you say "with any purchase" does that literally mean ANY purchase? Like, I could buy a magazine or a pack of gum and get it for that price?

Thanks for this! Picked it up today. My local FYE had probably 30 copies of it. The company must have really over-produced this DVD for them to be selling so cheaply at Dollar Generals and FYEs nation-wide. Found "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" (Unrated) on sale for $11.99 too so I picked that up as well. Thank you again for posting this. I would've never known had you not let us know.
