Yeah, I kinda had that feeling so I checked out some bits and pieces on youtube (so not totally a blind buy I suppose). I saw maybe about 10 minutes in total from the first season and really liked it. I also talked it over with a fan of the show and it seems like something I'll like. We'll see. Thanks for the heads up.

I love the new commentaries on these, as they generally have nothing, at all, to do with the show (though Matt Stone is obsessed with the drug use on the show, and says so about 20 times.. yeah that episode's commentary was pretty bad) but its great hearing Jessica, Edgar, and Simon chatting it up with a random American. Jessica is a bit overzealous but it's a fun listen.

having a bizarre issue...

when every episode begins (i am through 4) the very first spoken dialogue is subtitled. it quickly goes off, just the very first line. i make sure the subtitles are switched off at start. i switch it off again right after and then rewind, but the same subtitled line appears.

anyone else have this happen? truly bizarre, huh?

So, I understand the Star Wars music has been retained, but what about some other notable stuff? For example, the Scooby Doo theme, the pop songs at their flat-warming party? The A-Team remix? Anyone have any comments?

I started watching it last night, and the first two episodes were fine, but the third skipped too badly to watch. The first disc had scratches about a quarter of the way around the outer rim of the DVD. I went to another Best Buy this morning (the store of the original purchase was already sold out), and had to open three more sets to find one that wasn't scratched in the same way. (After the 2nd one, the customer service rep said she could give me a refund, or I could keep trying until I found a good one.) Hopefully this is was a relatively isolated problem in the batch sent to BB's South Florida distribution center, and not a larger-scale production flaw.

I'm having the same issue on one of my players.

The copy my brother picked up didn't have any issues at all.

I finished the first disc tonight and there were no issues to speak of. I'm so thrilled to finally own a legit copy of this show. My wife, not a fan of SotD or Hot Fuzz, has really enjoyed this show. I do have to explain certain pop culture references to her so we are constantly pausing the show but she is enjoying it.

Don't they have the Homage-O-meter?
