Tartan has announced a three-disc special edition of Oldboy which stars Choi Min-sik as an average family man who is kidnapped and imprisoned in a “hotel room” for 15 years without explanation. The set will be available to own from the 14th November, and should retail at around $39.92. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with Korean Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 Surround tracks. An English Dolby Digital 5.1 track will also be available, along with English subtitles. As for extras you can expect a director’s commentary, another commentary with the director and cinematographer, a third commentary with the director and cast, and five behind the scenes documentaries (Making the Film – The Cast Remembers, Production Design, The Music Score, CGI Documentary, Flashback). Completing the package will be fourty minutes of cast and crew interviews, ten deleted scenes with optional commentary, a Le Grand Prix at Cannes featurette, and a 212 minute video diary entitled The Autobiography of Oldboy. As a bonus buyers will also receive an exclusive film cell from the 35mm reel and the first volume of the Old Boy graphic novel on which the film is based.

Sounds great. I can't wait to get my hands on those extras - they sound fantastic.
Plus, a lightly cleaned up transfer wouldn't be a bad thing. I do wish that tin would have been a little less "BoB"-ish, even though it does looks decent.

You can scroll down to the the R0 UK PAL and the R3s. They've got the sideways letters, especially the copper-box LE tin.

Finally, some justification not to spend $100 on the Vengence Trilogy R2 box. I got close to ordering that thing. Now if Mr. and Lady Vengence can get some love.

Why didn't they include the short from the Korean LE? Nice box, but the insides/contents aren't worth it. I would have purchased this for the short film, but seeing as how I get a booklet and a documentary instead I'll pass.
