Mission: Impossible - Special Collector's Edition (April 2006)

Does anybody know if a collector's edition of Mission:Impossible is coming out? Because the original release dosen't have any bonus features except a trailer. I mean M:I-2 got a SE and that wasn't as good as the first one.

And again, my humor fails to impress.

With MI3 coming out in a few months... expect a 3 box set later next year.

Woo hoo!!!!!

I can finally get rid of that crappy non-anamorphic release. Hopefully this new version will be accompanied with a free ticket for M:I3.

Great to hear that an anamorphic release is finally forthcoming. Time to ditch my older disc.

... Nice to see. Dont really care about a 3 discer as I didnt like part 2, and not sure about 3 yet obviously, so an anamorphic version of the first is perfect. Another one on the list for this year.

It's hard to believe that it's been over 7 years since I bought Mission Impossible on DVD. This version is long over do.

I like the first 2 & will wait a few extra months for the inevitable box set. I never replaced 1 & 2 after Hurricane Charley as I decided to wait for MI3.

I sold my MI DVD about five years ago anticipating a new version back then.

Finally glad to see my patience has paid off

I wonder if Paramount will be generous enough to include and M:I-3 ticket with this one?

I'll wait to see what extras are included. Chances are good that if it's released as a two-disc set with substantive extras, I'll buy it. Otherwise, I'll pass.

More than likely, it will be a revamped double-dip release similar to the Mask of Zorro "Deluxe Edition" that came with the free movie ticket. However, if we get Anamorphic WS, then that's reason enough to ditch the old.

I don't have the old disc, or a widescreen TV for that matter. I like the movie enough to support the studio by buying it, but only if they put some care into the release.

Paramount did a nice job with the re-release of Top Gun and the Event Horizon SE looks good too, so I am sure this will be a worthy double dip.

I would be happy with a new 16x9 transfer, DTS & the trailer for the movie. The old DVD didn't even have a trailer.

Yes, and the new one probably won't, either.

The current Mission: Impossible DVD does have the trailer plus a pan & scan version of the film.
