A little off-topic here, but ... when Shaun of the Dead was released I held off on buying it in anticipation of the two-pack with the remake of Dawn of the Dead (announced not long after the initial release). I was pretty happy when the two-pack was released, with each movie only averaging about $11 (CAD). Recently, though, BestBuy Canada has had Shaun of the Dead on sale for only $6.99 (CAD) ... if only I had waited ...

The most important thing missing from this speclist that appeared in the UK is the 40 minute extra "Dead Right" which is a short film that Edgar shot when he was in high school or something that is apparently awesome. It comes with commentary.

I kind of doubt we'll get everything, but one can hope. The UK release is a 2-discer, though.

I'm debating on picking up the UK 2-Disc or waiting to see what's going to be on the R1 version. Hoping Universal announces before Jun 11th.

Loved shaun of the dead & even through this movie doesn't look quite as good I am still excited about seeing it.

Hope the specs look as good as those UK ones, but I loved this movie, so the HD is a no brainer for me... hilarious.

I hope they keep the original one-sheet art for the dvd cover, much like the 2-disc R2, and like they did with the Shaun of the Dead dvd.

Further Details:
Universal Home Video has sent over early details on Hot Fuzz which stars Simon Pegg, and Nick Frost. This new Edgar Wright directed film will be available to own from the 24th July, and should retail at around $29.98. The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include audio commentary, deleted scenes, outtakes, an exclusive Fuzzball Rally feature, a Man Who Would Be Fuzz feature, a Hot Funk feature, and more. A HD-DVD/DVD Combo release will be available seperately for $39.98. Stay tuned for the full details just as soon as the disc is officially announced. For now, here's an advertisement containing some early package artwork:

I will only buy this if all of the extras from the R2 UK release are on this...
Unfortunately it appears that this is only a one disk DVD and that all of the extras from R2 are not included...
That is a shame...Oh well.

They pulled this shit with Shaun and yet again with Hot Fuzz.

I'll just import the UK DVD at this point.

I (foolishly) didn't catch this in theaters so I'll happily snatch up this disc. I'm a fan of Shaun and this looked to be just as amusing.

Nice that they kept the original one-sheet poster art for the dvd cover. Now that I think about it, Universal seems to have a good track record of doing this, instead of going with fuglified covers.

HD-DVD is a must-own for me, and that's saying a lot since I usually NetFlix my HD-DVDs. Any chance of Shaun of the Dead getting an HD-DVD release?

EDIT: Nevermind, according to that ad Shuan of the Dead is getting an HD release too! WOO!
