Well, I am crazy, but not in this specific case. 
There was definitely a thread where the links removal was being discussed, the last post was Geoff demanding they be re-instated, and the thread was closed. I distinctly remember looking at the end of the thread multiple times, waiting for it to be re-opened and answered.
It may have been a different thread, and not the one you linked above. Or it was that thread, and things were edited.
Others can confirm this, no?

Ths thread has become rather long and, so far as I can see, the queries raised have been addressed.
If a September version of this thread is required, please feel free to start a new one.
