I noticed this on Wikipedia. It could be a hint, but then again, since it's Wikipedia, it should be taken with a whole salt shaker.

^Sounds too good to be true almost but I could definitely see it happening.
Maybe they will put out Bottle Rocket and Darjeeling Limited together in the same month.

Definitely going to wait on this. If a Criterion never comes out, at least I can get it cheaper later on.

Hmmm, I'm really undecided about picking this up on the release day now... I hate to say it, but if it were Criterion I'd be all over it... now I think I can wait some. I want better extras. No slipcover means I can pick it up used for 5 bucks in about 2 months. The movie wasn't bad, though possibly his weakest film... however I seem to be on the opposite end of the Wes Anderson popular opinion as I'd rank

....
Don't feel alone...while I thought this was a good movie, I also thought it was his weakest. Though I would buy a Criterion in a heart beat if it came out.

I loved the movie, but I'd still wait for the criterion.

Beautiful movie and worthy of repeated viewings. I'm sure to purchase if there's gonna be Criterion release.

There is a pre-order on Amazon.com for a DVD and Blu-Ray called The Darjeeling Express. Since there is no movie called The Darjeeling Express, perhaps this will turn out to be the Criterion edition of The Darjeeling Limited that Jason Schwartzman said was happening at some point.

According to Blu-ray.com, Criterion is planning on releasing The Darjeeling Limited in August, along with The Thin Red Line, Antichrist, Seven Samurai, and Videodrome.

I wish, but I don't think so. The initial artwork was a distance Eric Anderson painting of the train (the booklet or inside cover, perhaps?) and I thought that was way better than the weird cover they used instead. Then again, I haven't seen the cover in person, so...
