As am I. If there is anyone who is running HDMI/DVI and has already installed firmware 2.0, I'd sure like to hear that it works ok...

Works fine for me. Cleared up black crush. YMMV, though. I think it has a lot to do with the way your display is interacting with the TV. Still, if you have 1.4, the black crush is definitely there, so even if it remains in 2.0, then you're not losing anything, but you do gain DolbyTrueHD, which is more than worth it.

On the flip side, is anyone else having problems with 2.0 and HDMI-DVI, or is it just me?

I'm just not getting BTB w/HDMI. But, I wasn't with 1.4 either.

The Best Buy service guy came today; at first he was saying it was just an incompatibility issue with various makers of DVI, but his little tester machine didn't work either on 1080i, but it was fine on 480p and 576p. He called Philips and they ordered a DVI board to replace in it, so now I'm waiting for that. Side note, he said he has been seeing a *lot* of problems with cable boxes, HDMI, and TVs. I wish the tv/tech makers would get together and agree on a standard; and that the industry didn't assume I am a pirate/thief.

I have v2.0 and use both HDMI-DVI and component connections. The HDMI-DVI isn't passing BTB, so for HD DVD viewing I use the component connection and which does pass BTB and it looks great. For SD DVD viewing, I use the HDMI DVI connection for the upscaling. You have to tweak your viewing settings but you still get a phenomonal image even without passing BTB.

I seem to be having a problem with passing 1080i via HDMI. 720p works perfectly.

My TV is 720p - I tried passing 1080i from the player to my processor, which will convert the signal to 720p, and then send it to the TV. However, when I do this, the picture is too big - like the image has been zoomed in. My HD DVR sends a 1080i signal, and it displays correctly on the TV.

I did upload the 2.0 firmware.

Any thoughts?
