Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

It was more of a comment on its effectiveness as a design than a statement on the desire for people to see it. A series of gray lines simply doesn't evoke the NES like the controller does.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I'd actually say that pic illustrates my point more than proving it wrong. The design on the 3DS is much more striking and iconic. How many people could even identify the design on the GBASP? 1 in...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

That's a good idea in theory but not practice. The NES was a pretty bland design and most of what makes it recognizable is the shape and the cart door/slot. None of that would really translate all...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

What it really feels like is a A KNIFE IN THE FUCKING HEART!

I spent over TWO HUNDRED DOLLARS (you read that right, we're talking entire hundreds) on my XL mere weeks* ago. And now this?

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I just want an electronic device that isn't improved upon for 10-15 years so I don't feel like my relatively-small investment is obsolete. Is that too much to ask?

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

It is possible. I own a launch-day red XL with my Ambassador content transferred over. I gave my first small 3DS to my nephew.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Even if you hate the 3D the XL has a subtantially larger screen and it closes which leaves the screens better protected. You get what you pay for with the 2DS.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Or they would just quietly release an upgraded version under the same SKU and early adopters were stuck with the bugged version. Off the top of my head this happened with Donkey Kong Country and I'm...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Hope you didn't buy it today after hearing about Earthbound because its actually a Wii U Virtual Console release, not 3DS.

I think this new Zelda game could lead to SNES titles on the 3DS but as...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

The only downgrade on the XL is the stylus. That's it. It's better in every other way.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Syndicated newspaper strips are admittedly pretty lame. Still, putting two characters with different gaming preferences in a comic strip hoping it will be funny just because its a cartoon is like...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Webcomics in general are lame. The instant exposure the internet offers has lowered standards on pretty much every art form but for whatever reason the bar on comic strips is unusually low. Like...
