Re: Last DVD you watched?

The Stepfather. The one with Terry O' Quinn. Fantastic thriller, namely because of his riveting performance. I believe he elevated the film ten-fold. I'll pick this one up on Blu-ray when it goes on...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

The Virgin Spring. First viewing... and it was moving beyond comprehension. Truly, one of the best art films with a soul for storytelling, character, subtle use of music, gorgeous cinematography,...

Annie Hall. One of Woody Allen's finest.

Double Indemnity. One of Billy Wilder's finest.

Dirty Pretty Things. An excellent Stephen Frears film.

The Suburbans. Mostly boring and...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Small Change (Pocket Money). Another classic from Truffaut. Utterly charming, a pure delight... and deliberately paced to ultimately be something deeper, more moving, and thought-provoking at the...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

When he went into the bathroom - playing "pretend cop", and opened up the stall only to see nothing there -- man, that was intense! -rolleyes- :D

Re: Last DVD you watched?

I guess I decided that today I'd go through some movies I only purchased because they were cheap (say .50 cents to $1):

Carbon Copy / Suppose They Gave a War and Nobody Came? - Both equally...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Hollow Man (Director's Cut). I actually thought it was pretty fun. I was certainly left feeling entertained by it, and I might consider getting the Blu-ray.

Phantoms. Easily one of the worst films...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Les Mistons, and Antoine & Colette. Both amazing short films from the master Truffaut. I honestly cannot think of another director who moves me more.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

I'm not sure... I've been too busy lately to watch much. I think I'll update this post when I have.

Update: Well, I'm watching Jennifer's Body on Blu-ray right now. So I guess I'll have to just...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

The Foot Fist Way. I enjoyed this one for what it was. A simple, dark comedy, following an increasingly foolish man. It was pretty funny directly as a result of Danny McBride.

After Hours. A true...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Timecrimes, City of Ember, and The Story of Adele H. All were very enjoyable experiences for me (especially the last one - being as it is another classic from Truffaut).

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Flashdance - Man, this movie sucked. The dance numbers and soundtrack were pleasing overall, but unfortunately someone forgot to write an interesting story with well developed characters.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

The DVD's are poor quality but I've purchased almost all of his work for $3 per film or less so I'm not complaining. It would be nice if they got the Blu-ray treatment though.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

A Bucket of Blood. This is a fun horror film with genuinely creepy moments mixed in with nice shades of dark humor. This is a classic film and it is a strong demonstration of why Roger Corman was a...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Torn Curtain. This was my first time viewing the film. I must say it was yet another Hitchcock classic - a film that I truly loved. However, I am still saddened over the loss of the collaboration...
