I'm not sure i didnt' check the modes once it was working. Oh well it still sounds way better than just from my LCD speakers.

Not sure what you mean. I put my ear up to all 5 speakers and sound came out of all of them with just the white and red cords.

i checked my receiver and my optical input is...

i checked my receiver and my optical input is actually an output so i think thats why it wont work. i did get my surround sound to work though by plugging the red and white cords into my receiver.

I've used 3 different optical cables as well. I'll check for the red light when I get home from work. Also had the sound cables from the 360 unhooked and no sound at all.

A setting like in the menu system? It just makes no sense to me how it would work on the original xbox, but not with the 360. the set up is the same.

Just one optical port. The receiver has the dvd player built into it.

It has component, s video, RCA outputs. Also for the sub woofer. I'm not sure what else is on there, I'm at work right now....

Whats up guys. My 360 is saying unplayable disc with everything I put in it. I even put in a cleaner disc and it won't even read that. Is there a way to fix this, or do I need a new xbox?
