I much preferred The Chaser, if only because it kept a better consistency in tone. The Yellow Sea lost me about halfway through when it descended into ridiculous cartoony madness completely at odds...

The man knows how to stage action, the 20 min scene from Bittersweet Life and pretty much all the shootout scenes in The Good, the Bad and the Weird are brilliant.

Needs to work on substance...

fair call, what about Kang-Sang Ho (memories of murder, the host etc)?

korean cinema isnt as strong as hat it was a few years ago but theres still the odd gem every now and then.
