Interesting. I met Mark Cerny (way!) back when I was still in the games industry. An odd fellow, from what I recall.

I had no idea he was behind the PS4.

It's actually not ARC, but HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronic Control).

I've tried to explain it as simply as possible, even using rudimentary 'diagrams' but I guess it's not getting through.

Are you sure the volume request won't get passed to your amp via HDMI?

My Marantz receiver does that. The only thing is, you need to make sure the TV is turned on before the receiver, or it...
