I really liked Viva Pinata. You can find it really cheap. It's a little bit kiddy but was very addicting for a time. I'm told it's very similar to Animal Crossing, though I've never played that game...

Definitely check out the Gears games. There are often sales on the first one. I picked up new pretty cheap not long ago.
