For me anyways...movies nowadays aren't really worth owning, they're just disposable entertainment. Been there, done that back in the 70s and 80s with real special effects and not computer junk.

They can be if you're patient with the sales. Got 5 arrow titles from the recent Familyvideo sale for only $60 shipped (avg to $12 a title). But ultimately it's how bad you want it NOW.

I never did rip the player, just the brand but you guys did sort of convinced me that its a quality player.

Lack of players for sure. Maybe not DOA (though time will tell) but this format isn't really taking off either.

Does it have dual-HDMI ports? No way I'm plunking down another $500 for a 4K Receiver. This 4K format is really DOA. :lol:

Looks like the Panasonic player just came out stateside but it costs even more than the Oppo. :lol:
Philips is another brand I will not trust.

Where the heck are the UHD-BD players? There seem to only be a few thats out so far. Personally, I don't trust samsung players, don't want a gaming system to serve as my player and don't want to...

Seem like the only thing selling these days are the packages and not the content.

Only $5 for the Blu-ray but if its got that rare slipcover or limited edition steelbook then it'll fetch $95...

BN carries a ton of boutique label titles with the caveat that they're overpriced like a mutha.
