Re: Last DVD you watched?

Rewatched Mars Attacks!

The old DVD still looked pretty good on my 4K 60" display run through a PS5. Fairly good detail on faces (the lines on Jack Nicholson's, the adorable-ness of Natalie...

MST3K

San Francisco International Airport

Never saw this one, randomly pulled it off the shelf tonight. Pretty fun, though the ongoing Urkel skit was a bit odd.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Watched The Most Dangerous Game on Criterion DVD. Not as good as I remember the story being. Might put this up on eBay.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

The Furies, Criterion edition.

I’m usually not a big fan of westerns but a good story is a good story. All throughout I kept thinking “this drama is almost Shakespearean in tone” and then I look...

So I bought the 2 disc SE of Day of the Dead so many years ago I think it’s actually older than my kid and he just turned 14.

Anyways, finally watched last night and I enjoyed it. Well, what I...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Terminator Salvation

Also watched the Machinima animated prequel first, the plot about Laz Howard would have been better served as part of the regular movie.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

The Wasp Woman

Yup, the Roger Corman classic on an Alpha Video DVD. Interesting premise, would have been okay as an hour long Twilight Zone story.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Them! From 1954 or so. It’s the 2002 disc in the snapper case and I was amazed at how good it looked. Also saw a lot of similarities to James Cameron’s Aliens.

Return of the Jedi- theatrical version. Zoomed on a PS4 Pro. Not great image quality but good enough.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

T3 Rise of the Machines. I actually liked the lore building and the ending. And I’ll always have time to watch a Claire Danes movie. And the crane chase was pretty good too.

T2 Judgment Day : Extreme Edition.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

Megazone 23 Part 1

Kinda annoyed that it didn’t have a proper ending and the discs for 2 and 3 are crazy expensive on eBay.
But surprised at how good it looked for a 2004 DVD, upscaled on an...

Re: Last DVD you watched?

The H-Man

Very slow start, more of a police procedural until the body count starts racking up then it’s a little better.

Re: Last DVD you watched?

King Kong Escapes

Some interesting concepts, especially with a villain named Dr. Who and a young woman named Susan.

And it looked really good for a DVD, like seeing details of people’s skin and...
