Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Totally worth it at that price. It's actually not much of a GAME, but the world is so well done, it's cool to just wander around aimlessly in that Paris, either on streets or on rooftops. I'll pop it...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

I think instead of adding an additional 6 gigs of information, it writes over content already on your hard-drive after installing, so it doesn't take up much extra space, if any.

Oh, and I guess...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

There was a 6 gig update yesterday - anyone know what it was, is it even more stability fixes, or just the next DLC?

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Here's the map of the DLC area:

I tried to play it last night, but with PSN so slow now, it estimated the DLC's download time as 18 hours,...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Dead Kings takes place after sequence 12 (it's considered sequence 13) and just before the epilog of the main game. So if you haven't gotten there yet and care, it spoils Unity's story. It's supposed...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

I guess the Dead Kings DLC, which is now free for everyone, is available tomorrow.

Question for those that have been playing this extensively; I'm about halfway through the main missions, but...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Post patch, they're having issues with pretty bad pop-ins of NPCs

But since they threw in an animus glitch, then...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Yes.

Here are the patch notes (http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/975386-Patch-4-Release-Notes).

Consoles-only for now, I guess PC later in the week.

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Definitely for consoles, not sure about PCs.

But the 6.5 gigs also includes content/items for the Dead Kings DLC everyone's getting for free, so there's that.

There's supposed to be a new patch (their 4th one) tomorrow...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Yeah, a more refined, polished game every other year would be preferable. Although I'm sure they've crunched the numbers and they know they can make more money with a shoddier product every year.

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Rumor going around that the season pass for Unity got cancelled (gold edition of the game is removed from the PSN). As a sort of apology for releasing a buggy game, whoever already bought the season...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

I'd agree with that order, except I'd rate Unity just a smidge above of Revelations.

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

While it looks to be a good game, I think it's best to wait for Rogue to go on sale, as it seems like people are finishing it in under 10 hours (http://www.howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=21246), which...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Maybe if they offer that deal online. If I have to go into a Walmart on BF for that deal, I may as well be an Assassin myself, parkouring all over the store and stabbing everyone in my way.

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

That first town's not a problem. Wait until you get to Paris, which is exponentially bigger with way larger crowds.

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

PS4
Yeah, those comparisons were before the patch, and it seems like they've heavily patched the PS4 version, more than any other - I think that may be because it's the version that's sold the most,...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

I finally popped it in last night, downloaded the new patch, played for about an hour. Solid AC game! Easily the most beautiful (some of the best lighting I've ever seen in a game, period. The way...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Reports are that today's, nearly 1gig, patch (PS4) solved some of the frame rate issues.

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Yeah, microtransactions aren't bad, in and of themselves, but for me, they really hurt the immersiveness of a game, which I feel is the most important thing to a game like this, and those...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Exactly! The Enzo games had Italian accents, so any reason they use for Unity having British accents instead of French is pure, revisionist bullshit. But I guess there's an option to just have all...

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

I've been reading that, on the PS4, disconnecting the console & game from the internet, improves the frame-rate.
