Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

I'm sure that'll be a great time to buy in. The 3DS has a really outstanding library, so you have a lot to look forward to!

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

We ought to find out for sure in a couple of hours, but all signs are pointing to the NX (or whatever it winds up being called) basically replacing both the 3DS and the Wii U.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

The 3DS is basically at the end of its life. Its release slate has been really sparse for a while now (though still better supported than the Wii U), and what's believed to be its successor will be...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Here's something you don't see too often -- Tetris Ultimate is cheaper digitally than it is at retail:

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

The DSi apparently had something like 5 retail games that wouldn't play on a regular DS, although none of them were anything you'd care about.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

It's definitely less ideal than the way Disney Infinity and Skylanders work. I mean, the idea is that you'd "tap" the figure to it rather than leave it on a platform like Infinity/Skylanders, but...

That's a different Mario amiibo than the one with the fireball that's in the first retail release. Wonder how many alternate versions there'll be (or if that one's...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Coming soon -- the New 3DS. With a list of differences this long (and presumed game incompatibility with every 3DS currently on the market), should this be considered a new handheld altogether?

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

If you haven't read up on Tomodachi Life (coming on June 6th), it sounds pretty neat (http://www.polygon.com/2014/4/10/5591622/tomodachi-life-release-date). Kind of like The Sims meets Animal...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

What we learned about Smash Bros. today:

1) 3DS this summer. Wii U this winter.
2) Both 3DS and Wii U will run at 60 fps.
3) 3DS stages will be oriented around locales we've seen in handheld...

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Watching the Nintendo Direct now. I've kind of neglected my 3DS recently, but Kirby Triple Deluxe looks like it'll take care of that.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Wait! They backpedaled about that, didn't they? I think the Japanese versions were adapter-less, but the U.S. version came with one. No cradle, though.

Re: Nintendo Announces 3DS - 3D w/o Glasses!

Unlike the original 3DS (at least the near-launch release I have), the XL doesn't come with an AC adapter or a cradle.
