Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

I couldn't even keep track of what tournament it was or what the purpose of it was. Whenever I turned on Jeopardy, I just though, "Oh, Amy or the Steve Martin look alike is on again".

Re: Roy Thomas is trying to get credit for character creations including Wolverine.

He's actually charging a fair bit for his signature at cons now. I believe he is at $20-$30 for an autograph now, maybe more for CGC items or anything Wolverine related. At the Big Apple Con last...

Re: Roy Thomas is trying to get credit for character creations including Wolverine.

Because now at almost 84 years of age, he is close to death and time is of the essence. He wants to secure his legacy before he dies and possibly secure some financial security for any heirs he may...

Re: Star Trek: Lower Decks (Now on Paramount +)

To create a new show in it's place. The older show will usually start to lose viewers eventually and the hope is the show that replaces it will bring in more viewers than a 6th season of the old...

Movies with long sequences that feel like they could be part of a separate movie

I'm not sure how to word this, but have you ever watched a movie that has a long sequence, maybe half an hour or more that feels somewhat disconnected from the movie as a whole that they could build...

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

I am. i can't even keep track of what tournament they are even in anymore or if there's been more than one tournament at this point. They just seem to add an adjective before the word "tournament"...

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

This is an example of a clue that seems so obvious that you want to second guess yourself because you wouldn't expect them to make it that easy. None of the contestants fell for it though.

Re: Madame Web (2024, D: Clarkson) S: Dakota Johnson

I'm interested in seeing it, but don't think I'll spend the $15 to go see it in the theater. I'll wait until a discount day, if I have time, or watch it when it becomes available for streaming. It...

Re: Future Star Trek TV projects discussion thread - News, rumors, etc.

I'm not a fan of cartoons as being in-continuity, but Lower Decks is closer to "moving forward" than the prequels. If Picard hadn't been made, Lower Decks would have been the current "present day"...

Re: Future Star Trek TV projects discussion thread - News, rumors, etc.

The TNG/Picard era is where a Starfleet Academy series should take place. That is usually what is referred to as the "present day" in the Star Trek franchise.

Another interesting option would have...

Re: Future Star Trek TV projects discussion thread - News, rumors, etc.

Yes, the Paramount sale may be the issue. It would make more sense to give viewers what they want rather than the projects they're working on right now. At least they changed the Section 31 project...

Re: Back to the Future Question-- Marty's memories

They hadn't seen the time travelling Marty in thirty years. There was no Facebook, he wasn't in their high school yearbook, nor did they have any pictures of him. They may have thought that their son...

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

In grade school, we'd always have a math question phrased as "Write the number 33 using Roman Numerals" or "Write the number 10 as a Roman Numeral". They never said "Write the number 10 using Roman...

Re: Back to the Future Question-- Marty's memories

I can only speak for how my action influenced the event. But yes, any different action on a number of drivers or people that day could have changed the events, and that was kind of my point. If thing...

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

All the contestants got this one right, but I thought it was a bit misleading. The clue is asking about a "Roman numeral". I would consider a Roman numeral to be just one letter and when writing...

Re: Back to the Future Question-- Marty's memories

I don't blame myself for her death at all, but it make me not want to let any vehicle in traffic for a while afterwards. I still very briefly recall the incident about 20% of the time I do let other...

Re: Back to the Future Question-- Marty's memories

m the event.
I've always felt even a very minute, minor change in an action will grow exponentionally the further you get from the action. For instance, when I was in my senior year of high school,...

Re: Back to the Future Question-- Marty's memories

They touch on the topic in the Butterfly Effect movie, which is what really made me think about it when rewatching the BTTF movies.

Back to the Future Question-- Marty's memories

I just recently rewatched parts 1 and 2, but haven't viewed part 3 on many years. Do they ever address Marty's memory of events after his first time travel trip? At the end of Part 1 he gets back to...

Re: Old show or movie you never watched when released but feel is too dated to enjoy

They make movies ti make money in the present day. They weren't really concerned if their version of the future would match up with reality when they were dead or retired from making films. If people...

The scene where the older woman is feeding the pet on her lap at the restaurant was funny as well.

Re: Jeopardy! Discussion

This seemed like a very obvious clue so that all the players would get it right, yet two of them still missed it. I don't think the producers could have made it any easier.
