point taken. i only thought that the toshiba would be of use for the meantime as i only have a 29" TV. I could surely use the extra space the black bars are occupying. I guess it would take another...

I was about to buy the Pioneer 525 costing around $410 here in the Philippines but backed off when someone said that the Toshiba 2109 ($480) was of similar quality PLUS it can remove the black bars...

Try out Onkyo 575 ... cheap receiver yet fantastic performance =) Denon 3300 and Marantz 7000 are also worth looking at.

Not sure with the Kenwood but ive heard quite a lot of positive feedbacks with the Yamaha. Why dont you try out the Onkyo 575. It costs less than both the Yamaha and Kenwood and it sure has a good...

I was looking around and got to audition the Yamaha RXV2095 . It was also good and it got me thinking if it is a better than the others. And to think that it's price is double that of the Onkyo's....
