Deadliest attack in a year kills 115 in central Baghdad

A devastating truck bombing on a bustling commercial street in downtown Baghdad killed 115 people early Sunday.

Can you guess who has claimed responsibility?

Terrible. Shameful. Cowardly.

Lord, have mercy.

From looking at images of the attack, very little mercy was handed out from the Lord.

I'm starting to get the feeling that mspmms isn't an Obama guy. Just a hunch though.

Good point. Kind of like figuring out Obama isn't an anti-[islamic]terrorist guy.

Just a hunch, though. :'bamawinky:

Re: Deadliest attack in a year kills 115 in central Baghdad

Meanwhile in Kuwait:

Kuwait foiled three planned Islamic State attacks on the country, including a plot to blow up a Shi'ite mosque, after launching raids that resulted in the arrest of militants, state news agency KUNA said on Monday.

"Kuwait security agencies have carried out three pre-emptive operations in Kuwait and abroad that led to derailing a number of Islamic State (IS) plots targeting Kuwait and arresting several IS members," said an interior ministry statement on KUNA.

The statement included pictures of a veiled, middle-aged woman and five young men, one of whom it said was a Kuwaiti national who had joined Islamic State and planned to bomb a mosque and an interior ministry building during Eid holidays.

A year ago, Kuwait, home to several U.S. military bases, suffered its deadliest militant attack in decades when a Saudi suicide bomber blew himself up inside a packed Shi'ite mosque, killing 27 people. Islamic State claimed responsibility.

A U.S. ally and neighbor of Saudi Arabia and Iraq, Kuwait is part of a 34-nation alliance announced by Riyadh in December aimed at countering Islamic State and al Qaeda in Iraq, Syria, Libya, Egypt and Afghanistan.
And in Saudi Arabia:

A suspected suicide bomber carried out an attack early Monday near the U.S. consulate in the Saudi city of Jeddah, local media reported.

The attacker is the only one reported killed, the Okaz news website reported.

Two law enforcement officers were injured in the attack, BBC reported.
Seems like the worse things are going for the Islamic State, the more of these attacks we see.

Well, that's good to hear Kuwait is protecting their Shi'ite mosques.

Unfortunately, attacks that take massive casualties are what makes ISIS famous and alluring and they are in no way suffering a public embarrassment. The amount of attacks initiated in the last few weeks, should be evidence of this. The 250 ISIS fighters allegedly killed have already been negated by almost 200 dead civilians, and hundreds injured and maimed for life.

ISIS is sending a clear message. Bring it on.

ISIS needs to be continually on the run, and in a perpetual state of survival. We are not at that point with them.

Maybe they'll all get together and clean up their own shit.

Not holding my breath, but it would be nice...

IF you see any military guys on TV, even ones opposed to Obama, they have a hard time articulating any other actions by the US to prevent or minimize these bombings other than full on invasion. Again.

And cartoonists like the one above confuse a criminal terrorist organization being able to convince handfuls of moronic idiots to commit suicide in the name of Allah with actually winning any military advantage.

These fucknuts went so far to bomb in Medina which may prove to be a major mistake. They don't even know what the fuck they are fighting for....

But Obama is soft on terrorists. Trump will solve it by waterboarding more.

Absolutely. There will be more too. Because that's what desperate people on the losing side of a conflict do...continue to fight.
