Why wouldn't she? She fulfilled her part of the contract. NBC has to fulfill theirs.

Interesting that they were 40 minutes late to the party. Is that the official Fox News Time Buffer® for when there is negative GOP news? The "almost but only kinda slightly late-breaking, maybe" news?

Seriously? It's called a "Buy-Out". Yes NBC had agreed to pay her $69M, but that was for a 3-year commitment to NBC. They could have kept her off the air for another 2 years but instead she is free to work with anyone and still keep her NBC money.

It's not like NBC has ever backed out of a contract deal or played hardball after an untimely exit before.

I don't see how they can even have an excuse for making that slide much less airing it.

Calculated move pandering to their base. Nothing to see here. Toss it up and make an apology later after everyone has moved on to the next soundbite from 45.

Right, while their viewers chuckle in delight at the prospect of turning the Supreme Court into Trump's wet dream for the next 40 years

Re: Fox News Alert! (A Fox News Thread)

Fox News now running with the judge commenting on the abortion thing. I'll probably get some flack from Conservatives, but why the fuck are we telling women what to do with their bodies. If there is a God, let him deal with that shit. He's the one who created us in the first place, and I sure don't see anything in the Bible that says don't kill babies. In fact, God killed babies in the name of cleansing communities that were..."unclean".

And this leads into my forecast for 2020.

And on a general note, Fox News is just becoming a circus. I can't stand to watch that crap longer than 10mins a day. Unfortunately, I observe what's being reported, just like watching CNN or other networks.

RBG's on my deadpool list for this year. If it actually happens, 2020 is going to be one helluva ride.

Pure doublethink.

Teach your child to be opposed to single payer healthcare, because that's socialism. When other people bring up the argument that socialized medicine is working fine in other countries, teach your child to respond that those countries aren't really socialist.

If I could fix your post, I'd change the last clause to be "teach your child to say 'Venezuela!'"

Fox News Opts Not to Run Ad for Anti-Fascist Doc on Hannity

Wouldn't want viewers to have to watch footage of a Nazi rally in NYC along with the words "It can happen here".

Re: Fox News Alert! (A Fox News Thread)

The President of the United States just made an end-run around Congress by declaring a national emergency (and in the same speech said it wasn't an emergency), there was another mass shooting, and the top story on Fox News (which has been there all day) is about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez's boyfriend getting a government email address.

Spoiler for size:

Spoiler:

She said it was so he could have access to her calendar. Here's a line from that story:

Asked about the arrangement, David O'Boyle, the spokesperson for the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer, told Fox News: "From time to time, at the request of members, spouses and partners are provided House email accounts for the purposes of viewing the member’s calendar."
So it is a non-story. Yet it's sitting at the top of their homepage, as if it's the only thing worth talking about today.

Tucker Carlson hasn't gotten roasted that badly since he had Jon Stewart on Crossfire.

Re: Fox News Alert! (A Fox News Thread)

Tucker Carlson was totally out of line and unprofessional on that Rutger interview, and I stopped watching Tucker for quite some time because I was wondering to myself...why were people so angry when they appeared on his show. Well, with this latest development, I know why, and it strikes as being dishonest and being an ass. We have enough media commentators and one additional one I can do without, thanks. Tucker purposely attacks his "guests" and does exactly what he accuses of the Liberal Media of doing. Therefore, I cannot agree with his tactics nor can I trust what he says, which is unfortunate because he was pretty good when he first started.

As to the sailor kissing the woman, I'm not sure what the issue is there. I haven't heard anything negative ever since it was photographed. WWII was a very different time, and nobody today, not even myself, can comprehend what it was like back then but people were kissing each other in the streets who didn't know each other, fucking in allies due to the overwhelming joys of conquering a vicious and vile enemy overseas, and just plain doing things very impulsive that would not happen in any other type of situation. To put contemporary and ever-changing and shifting moral restraints on something back then...is insultingly moronic.

If a school had a statue of Bill Cosby out front, should they be forced to keep it up because it's a symbol and relic of history? Or can we change our minds on who we honor when society changes or new information comes to light?

Confederate monuments and flags belong in museums, not paid for by public funds.

If the John Wayne stuff was "common knowledge", then so was the V-Day photo controversy. I certainly knew all about it.

Also, for someone who says that they can't comprehend what it was like, you sure seem adamant about what it was like. At least, about how women should have felt about being kissed without consent. .
