25-30 shots from an assault rifle is what is being reported. My dad was an Army recruiter and a station commander most of his 20 plus years in and the recruiting stations are completely open. I am surprised this doesn't happen more often as they get a lot of death threats over the phone.

I saw a tweet that they said was sent by ISIS before the shootings that had a #Chattanooga hashtag that forewarned of the shooting.

I'm sure if it's real or not so I didn't want to post it yet.

If that's true it's going to be very difficult for them to not label this Islamic terrorism. Not that they won't try..

I saw this hashtag only a few minutes after the shooting was announced, so I can verify it was there. I just don't know what it really translated to as it was in Arabic, and from a simple Google translation, seemed something a person would say about "having a nice day". Translation was a little off, or maybe it wasn't, I dunno. Tried to get the Twitter account up to look at it further, but it was removed, of course.

If true, it's what I originally suspected. This happens a lot with mass shootings; jackasses making fake social media accounts.

If I were running ISIS. I would employ an army of bloggers and twitters to constantly post "fire and death coming soon to (insert random mid-sized American town here)" just to keep things stirred up.

Thanks. That's exactly why I saw it and didn't post it here. I didn't see it on Fox though it was an AP bulletin with a link but it was a feed story (not public / not verified).

I had my doubts about it.. ISIS doesn't usually tip their hand like that.

So yes, this continually drives me nuts. I was listening to Boston WBZ news radio at work (yes, I listen to an actual physical radio), and this report first broke--the Chattanooga police spokesman SPECIFICALLY said "this doesn't seem to be Islamic terrorism."

This was just a couple hours after the attack. Why is the first inclination of every public official to defend Islam? It seems highly dubious to me that ANY motive could be ruled in or out so early in the investigation, when the news reports will still fuzzy as to how many shooters, how many sites, how many victims. This happens after almost every Islamic terror attack. Is it too much to ask that officials should just say "we don't want to comment on a motive until we have more information."?

I'd say there's a sweeping fear within the US Government to call ANYTHING what it is when it comes to Islamic Terrorism/Black-Initiated Violence, because they know Obama is going to have their job (or be "investigated").

Why don't we just call our US Military a bunch of Message Therapists, and then we can send millions overseas to ISIS territories and massage their bodies when they kill people.

Because their muscles get sore after such a hard day's work.
