United Nations Open House for Dictators

Watching Ghaddafiiy's speech, I actually agree with him. We should move the UN to the other side of the world and do away with the Security Council. I guarantee, within five years no one will pay attention to it anymore. Awesome idea, Khadaffi!

He really is insane.

The latest: capitalists created the swine flu.

I was amazed how cooperative he was during the Bush Administration. I think that after we invaded Iraq, he may have figured he should watch himself. Or maybe he was just tired. But for whatever reason, he was out of the picture.

Trust me, you didn't miss anything. They actually had to bring in a second interpreter because he rambled so long.

Re: United Nations Open House for Dictators

He railed against the "inequality" of U.N. member states, quoting from a copy of the U.N. Charter that calls for equality of nations, and then noting that five nations hold veto power on the Security Council and can block actions contrary to their interests: the United States, Russia, China, Britain and France.

he has a valid point even if you disagree with the charter

I'm agreeing with Qaddafi's speech more than I agreed with Obama's.... should I be worried?

Re: United Nations Open House for Dictators

from a blog:

He challenges the delegates in the Hall to give him any reason why the African Union does not deserve a seat. No one is brave enough to take up the challenge. I can think of one possible reason, though. The current head of the African Union is... Muammar Gaddafi.

I'm sick of this because every September I have to listen to the news complain about how traffic is going to be terrible on the east side because of the avenue closures. Here's a tip, don't drive in fucking Manhattan.

Same here. Especially when Qaddafi said the UN should move out of the USA. I couldn't agree more. GTFO.

Yeah, France having a veto but not India is a disgrace.

But the notion that nations are created equal is pure unadulterated horesehockey. Giving equal power to Iran, Zimbabwe, North Korea, and Venezuela only makes sense if your goal is to make sure the US and EU never listen to the UN again.

So, then you are saying this is a good idea?

Just heard this second-hand----did Qadaffi actually refer to Obama as "our son"? If so, . I bet Obama was not overly pleased with that one.

Since Gaddafy is the President of the African Union, and Obama was born in Africa ...

*ducks*

Yes, there were a few times when Qaddafi referred to Obama as "our son" and "my son". The explanation is that Qaddafi as the president of the African Union looks at Obama as a "son" because Obama's father was born in Kenya.

Qaddafi is my father? No. That's not true. That's impossible!

The UN was very polite to Obama.. Applauding at times. Someone shouted "You Rye!" at some point. Not sure what that was about.

Re: United Nations Open House for Dictators

"Libyan leader Muammar Qaddafi, declaring that "we'd be content and happy if Obama can stay president forever,......"

Nothing to worry about here----I'm sure he said that because deep down he really wishes the best for America, and wants the US to continue to be a strong, prosperous country that takes a leading role in the world----and he knows that Obama is the best person for that job.
