Re: Blu-ray.com Refugees
I think it's neat that there is a small exodus of members from there over here now. I recognize some names. Here's hoping the new folks contribute in the main threads, too.

I'm a member over there, but under a different username, so they can't ban me.
I think I've tangled with Rodney in the Star Wars threads, which narrows it down.

I said the exact same thing. I told everyone, why is this happening now all of a sudden? The Blu-ray mods have always been like this. Having said that, I do notice that the Blu-ray mods have been on a banning spree lately.

Sounds like a bunch of trifling dickheads over there. Here it's just a relaxed group of rich middle-aged dudes with gorgeous wives, private jets, and gigantic dicks.

I don’t really post much over there, probably because I’m not a child and I enjoy watching movies, not analyzing them.
Once I dared making the comment asking someone if they sat around watching a slipcover when they didn’t get one with their movie and was going to return it. You should seen the response the forum gave me.

Seriously like with most situations follow the money. Click revenue starts to dry up. Possible "perks" are removed. People start to feel volunteering is not worth their time. Those left behind do not really care. Years of allowing certain individuals to dump their "opinions".
Others feel things have gone to far, so they ask for some kind of method of cleaning. People in "charge" do not want to be told they are slacking.
Promises are made and nothing changes. People are banned for pointing out the slacking. "Opinions" continue.

I think Jay summed it up pretty well. When there is no more room in hell.

Another thing about Blu-ray mods too is that they insult you after they ban you as if they have higher standards or something. Like that time I accidently posted a pic containing an F-bomb. They started talking to me like I was a child or something and banned me. I was like, dude. I didn't know the F-bomb was there.

Re: Blu-ray.com Refugees
I'm just still there because there are still members there that we know. Eventually I will get banned again, as usual, so I'm enjoying talking to the members that are left behind while I still can.

There is one current thread over there that tells you all that you need to know.
The Ghostbusters Afterlife thread
Nothing but unrelenting trolling, which should have been shut down by the mods. Yet they do nothing. If someone bring this up, that person is banned and told to go elsewhere.

The slipcover talk there is bad, but really the steelbook discussions are odder and crazier. I remember when the Wonder Woman 1984 4K steelbook was announced several members of the forum were complaining about how they had to buy a movie that they did not like because it was getting a steelbook release. Didn't make any sense to me, I would rather just spend the $30 on a movie I liked.

What’s so great about Steelbooks?
I’m still annoyed that slipcovers aren’t shrinkwrapped; stores that stuck price tags on them are now largely out of business but there’s still a chance of them going missing in shipment.

Steelbooks are cool but I'm not going to buy a movie I don't like just to have a steelbook, nor will I pass on a movie I don't like due to lack of a steelbook.
It's a collectible thing like, if there's two options and one is a nice looking steelbook, I might lean towards that.

Re: Blu-ray.com Refugees
I get the collector mentality so I probably shouldn't cast aspersions (although my DVD/Blu-ray collecting days are looooong over), but that's pretty fucking stupid.
