Does anyone own an AirFryer?

So I won an air fryer from commenting on a post from a local grocery store. Does anyone here have any experience with Air Fryers, thoughts, reciepe ideas. I'm going to try making sweet potatoe fries later this week, and I wonder what else to try and make with it.

There's a local vegetarian place that makes the best air fries I've ever had but they have a giant industrial air fryer.

There's already a thread for this, though you have to search for the name as two words. That threw me off at first.

We've made fries, pizza's, pillsbury biscuits in them. You can even cook small steaks with them.

Re: Does anyone own an AirFryer?

I hate mine, but my son uses it whenever he visits and likes it. You and he are more the target audience (I'm old and can cook pretty much anything from scratch. Plus, I have a full size convection oven, which is nearly the same thing but larger.) With an air fryer, you can make great oven fries, oven sweet potato fries, chicken nuggets, little pizzas, fish sticks, pizza rolls. My son gets a kick out of making baked potato chips that taste a lot like baked lays. Everything is better than a regular oven baked version, not as good as a real fried version. Congrats on winning it. I think it will be great for cooking single portions. One of my issues is it's small, but I'm usually cooking for a group, even as an empty nester.

Re: Does anyone own an AirFryer?

For sweet potato fries, I recommend tossing them in some light oil before air frying. Otherwise they tend to get a little dry. I typically use a tablespoon of oil in a sandwich baggie of potatoes and shake it up good to coat them. Then again, I hate sweet potato fries (my wife and daughter love them).

Re: Does anyone own an AirFryer?

Well I cooked my sweet potatoe fries and they turned fairly good. I overcooked them, but they still turned out good. It's going to take some experimenting to see what works with it. My next item to try will be pizza rolls.

Chicken wings are easy peasy. Thatís the main reason I bought one last year.

Re: Does anyone own an AirFryer?

We mostly use it for potatoes. Buy any frozen bag of tots, crinkle cut, seasoned, sweet potato, waffle. It's very good. The only issue is we tend to eat a lot more potatoes as sides instead of other vegetables.

Other things that are great in it: homemade crab rangoon, corn dogs, pizza rolls, pot stickers. We use ours every other day.

Re: Does anyone own an AirFryer?

My dad got an Air fryer on Black Friday. He made some chicken wings for Christmas. I was surprised how good they came
