Black Friday 2018: It's that time once again.

What used to be a shopping day for the Friday after Thanksgiving has somehow turned into a weekend long event. What are some of the things you are looking to buy?

We went on the Wal-Mart website at 10 pm est and it kept crashing. After about 45 minutes, we were able to buy the items we wanted except for three things.

That means I'm going to have to go into the madness and hope for the best. I miss the days of eating Thanksgiving dinner and then watching football.

I'm going to go out to Kohl's at midnight tonight for something my Mom wants. Its one item, that's it, than I'm going home straight to bed. I'll be on the look out for the Black Friday fight videos on youtube.

There's a Target nearby. I'll head over there around 9pm to see what Blurays are on sale I'd like to get.

Game of Thrones S7 is the only thing I'd need/want.

I won't be doing much Friday shopping this year. I pretty much got everything I need. Eyeing a few sweatpants to go on sale at a store online and that's pretty much all.

Would be great if Adidas throws a big Friday sale on their Ultra Boost sneakers but I doubt it.

Iím all for saving a couple of bucks but I canít think of anything at Wal-mart that would make me fight Black Friday crowds for.

Re: Black Friday 2018: It's that time once again.

Many Kohls things are already discounted online. I bought my annual comforters--- $19.99, with $15% off makes them about $17.00. Then, since I got $15 Kohl's cash for 3 of them, and a $3 ****** rebate, they end up costing $11 apiece. Every year I buy them, every year, 1 or 2 disappear. I am hiding a couple this year though, to keep them from being snagged by my kids for random camping trips. Other than that, nothing. We have enough stuff.

Edit--wow, I forgot we can't say ******. Kind of absurd to ban the name of a cash back website.

Going to try to hit Best Buy tomorrow night after seeing Creed II and see if I can pick up some 4Ks and BDs I've been holding off on getting for months. May get a Roku Ultra as well.

Everything is live on the website right now if you want to go that route. I picked up the Ultra and a bunch of movies.

Was this the comforter you bought?

https://www.kohls.com/product/prd-26...r=Gray&prdPV=1

I bought this one below last year for $24.99 Black Friday.

https://www.jcpenney.com/p/home-expr...plType=regular

I see it's now $39.99. Still a bargain. When I bought the comforter I had thought I was going to get a cheap crap. Comforter turned out to be great quality. It's warm as hell and washes greatly too.

Well I felt dumb. I went to Kohl's last night at Midnight thinking one of the Black Friday sales started at Midnight in stores, but It was actually online and at 5pm today. I went there with my Sister and thankfully I got the sale price on the gift we were looking for.

Looks good--likely a lot better than the Kohls ones, which are good, but we use 2 in the winter to keep warm (along with flannel sheets).. I just want extra blankets that are super, super cheap. $11 fits the bill, because they will disappear on various outings (I think I lost 2 to the eclipse).

Farthest place I'm going is my fridge for a few drinks and turkey. Even then, I'm debating that at the moment.

Roku.com is offering the Ultra for $49.99 with free shipping. I went that route over Brick and Mortar parking.

Picked up a new Ipad on Amazon after they price matched Target. My seven year old model crashes constantly.

Re: Black Friday 2018: It's that time once again.

Went to Target tonight, wasn't too bad at all. They're always so much better organized then other stores and even handed out maps to where the major items were. Picked up a couple car seats that were half off, a bunch of toys/games that my wife donates every year, and some random childrens books and clothes.

Stopped by Best Buy and it was a mad house and we left right away.

I also ordered a couple APC UPS units online from Office Depot. Might stop by Walmart later tonight just to browse casually.

Of all the big box retailer's it's the best place to go if your looking for a specific item they carry. Went 15-20 minutes after it opened, spent like 1 minute in line and was in and out quicker then I would be on a regular weekday.

This isn't a haul thread, so I'll just say that I swung by Best Buy tonight. The lines were very smooth. Spent about 1 hour there, picked up a bunch of new tech, BDs and 4Ks and got out of there in about 1 hour total.

My son said he wants flannel anything for Christmas so I've been stalking Vermont Flannel Company. It appears they don't bother with Black Friday.

Yesterday I was able to pause to give thanks and spend time with family + loved ones.

Today I intend to avoid the madness of Black Friday.
