Re: What is the appeal of Funko Pop

I dropped by Hot Topics yesterday and they have all the Captain Marvel funko pops plus they are in a 3 for $27 sale. I had to quickly walk out and resist spending the money.

Yeah normally wouldn't think about getting these, but hey, the series will be ending soon and I'm sentimental.

I saw a Manta figure at Target earlier with black eyes instead of red. There was a Target Exclusive sticker on it.

EDIT: Just looked at Target's website and they list it as metallic.

I'd get a Big bang Theory set, but while the top row is ok, these invariably look bad when characters do not have round-ish faces. Bottom row, these look nothing like Wolowitz and Amy.

I love how this thread went from basically "What the fuck is up with people who collect Funko Pop 'toys'" to now, with all the people posting which Funko Pops they recently purchased or want to purchase.

I admit, Iím a sucker for anything Jaws.

And you gotta figure that with all their hundreds (thousands) of different figures, eventually theyíll release something that strikes a chord with everyone.

The Jaws ones are cool. A lot of the others are pretty damn generic looking though.

Half-Price Books sells used ones out of the package and as I was looking through them, I realized a lot of them you can't even recognize when you don't have the name on the box to tell you who it is.

Thatís what I thought too. I considered the Cheers figures but thought that as soon as they were out of the box I would just spend all my time explaining to other people what characters they were.

Those Simpsons ones are cool but the cold black eyes kill it for me. Moe looks especially creepy.

Which one of the female ones is Shaz-Amy?

It’s a whole Shaz-army.

All apologies. I've deleted my posts, and I hope the thread continues in a manner which you find more pleasing.

I loved that show. I used to watch it every Saturday Morning as a kid. I would be all over that if it was ever released.

Cheech & Chong and Sanford & Son are tempting, and I don't own a single Funko Pop.
