Sorry lol

At least it awoke a level of nostalgia for you and probably a good memory or memories.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

I owned a few pairs back in the day. I still like some of the designs, but my problem is I just don't think the shoes go with anything I wear. I like some of the 'natural' variant color ones like this - https://sneakerbardetroit.com/air-jo...-release-date/ - but I also just don't think I could wear high tops anymore.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

They were $125 or so when I was getting them in High School. the III, IV and V were among my favorite athletic shoes ever. After that they slowly, and then quickly went off the rails IMO.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

Never owned a pair. My mom never let me spend that much on sneakers as a kid.

And now I don't have much desire since it doesn't really fit my fashion style, I don't play basketball and I don't have much interest in collecting them. I do think Air Jordans are still damn cool though.

So I was listening to news radio on my way in this morning and they did a quick story on this gadget that can supposedly detect counterfeit consumer goods with a high degree of success:

My first though was, "wow, that's kind of slick." My second thought was, "wow, this won't help me at all." With few exceptions, I would never buy any product that is likely to be counterfeited anyway, most especially any form of clothing or jewelry, for exactly the reason you stated.

I never owned a pair of Jordan's though I can remember seeing the first version in a store back in the 80's and being shocked by them.

The Nike Air Max Barkley edition above worn by Sir Charles and the Fab Five were my favorite basketball shoes ever. They were amazing.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

I never had or owned Jordans, would have loved them probably when I was younger. I don't wear basketball shoes for "fashion" or casually, and for actually playing basketball I'll wear other Nike's like the Hyperdunk line.

I owned the Air Jordan V shoes. I still think they were the best.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

I never had these growing up, so was all over them when Nike first started making retros of them some 15 years ago. The quality of the initial retro's was great - it since went down hill in later years.

I pretty much have all of the AJ I through VII line. I never really cared or followed the AJ designs past the VII. The IVs in tour Blue are great. My favorite is also the V - both the OG black and white.

I don't much wear any of them out and about.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

Interesting.

I was already a HS senior by the time Jordans first came out and my athletic shoes of habit were by then plain white leather whatevers.

Heck, for decades now I just buy a new pair of plain white leather Nike Air Monarchs every year or two.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

I know people collect anything and I get that cause I collect stuff.

So people paying this money, no, parents paying this money for kids
to wear those sneaks is crazy.

Adults buying them to collect them is something I can understand.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

During Nike's Q2 earnings call on Thursday, president Trevor Edwards spoke about how the demand for Air Jordans has fallen and how sales did not quite meet expectations in the second quarter of Nike Inc.'s fiscal year.

As a result, the brand will once again make iconic Air Jordans style more rare, thus making them harder to purchase which will, in turn, drive up the demand.

Jordan Brand's plans for 2018 reportedly include as many as 30 different classic and original Air Jordan 1 colorways, as well as a handful of Air Jordan 3s including the beloved "Black Cement" and the "Katrina" colorway which has never released. Additionally, Jordan Brand will also be releasing several Air Jordan 11s next year, including the iconic "Concord" colorway and a handful of low-top versions, such as the "Cool Grey."

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

I'm just glad Nike got itself out of the Stone Age so I don't have to go planning for/chasing after a pair of basic white on white Air Force 1s.

Air Jordan's is all I wear. They are very comfortable to me. Plus, I started back in the 80's when they first came out. I know they are not for everyone but I like them.

Re: Air Jordan Shoes

People are going crazy over the Levi Denim Jordans

They came for the limited-edition Air Jordan IVs, designed in collaboration with San Francisco's own Levi's jeans brand and sewn with blue denim.

The shoes will not be available for purchase until Wednesday. But by 5:30 p.m. Monday, the line in front of the Levi's store at 815 Market Street stretched more than halfway down the block, past the entrance to the Westfield Mall. The sneakers will be accompanied by a matching reversible denim trucker jacket, and each pair of shoes will retail for $225, according to fashion site Hypebeast.

The appeal? Matt Ball, waiting near the rear of the line, said he hopes to resell them for anywhere between $600-$800. The shoes will only be sold at 69 stores worldwide.

Should’ve had 501 style button fly instead of the laces.

Hypebeasts. It's such a dirty sneaker game out there.
