That's pretty awesome. All you have to do is break your wrist, and you can pass as a white man. At least your fingers can.

I'd post a picture but you've seen how people who lose pigmentation look like. Except...It's like got white skin under the brown skin. It is freaky looking at how the skin is cracking up in like some small chunks. *shudder* white people skin

Leeches. Leeches are definitely the answer.

Re: Snake with a broken wrist

My hand is out of a cast now.

Spoiler:

Unfortunately the lovely thing known as atrophy has deformed my wrist.

Aside from jerking myself or others off what kind of things would help my wrist/forearm to get back to normal?

I can bend the wrist to a point but obviously it's still healing. Annoys me that I'm like this. Also the skin was peeling too. Ive scrubbed off all the dead skin so far. Fucking crazy to see my wrist like that.

I've some handgrips. I guess that'll help too.

Re: Snake with a broken wrist

I broke my wrist when I was 11. If it itches, use a coat hanger to pull out the gauze. It was 1972 or so and I did not get any pain meds.

Dude, you have the same blotching as some of my family members on my dad's side do/did. It skipped us, though. My best friend (also Mexican) has that but over both hands. We used to call him "El Manchado" but that was fucked up.

Re: Snake with a broken wrist

Thankfully it's just skin peeling. from what some people have said...that shit happens cuz the skin isn't as maintained as the other hand. I was freaking the fuck out though when it was.

I was going to run the Tough Mudder in Houston on the 1st of next month too. Had to move that shit to May of next year in Austin. I also have 1 run to do in the latter of November and 2 in December. Will probably move those if I can, depending on when this shit clears up with my wrist.
If Stanley Kubrick were still alive, you'd be a lock for a main role in his remake of "Convoy."

Worked for Lee Ermey.

The Orthopedist hasn't said anything about it. If he did, my job would cover it. Apparetly I'm an expensive motherfucker from what I'm looking at the bills that are forwarded to me for my records. the night this happened w/ going to the ER. The splint, x-ray, some pills, and the doctor checking up on me costs $2,088. Jeez... that is kind of overkill on the pricing on the broken wrist, no?

Here's a good synopsis:

Spoiler:

Well, we rolled up Interstate 44
Like a rocket sled on rails.
We tore up all of our swindle sheets,
And left 'em settin' on the scales.
By the time we hit that Chi-town,
Them bears was a-gettin' smart:
They'd brought up some reinforcements
From the Illinois National Guard.
There's armored cars, and tanks, and jeeps,
And rigs of ev'ry size.
Yeah, them chicken coops was full'a bears
And choppers filled the skies.
Well, we shot the line and we went for broke
With a thousand screamin' trucks
An' eleven long-haired Friends a' Jesus
In a chartreuse micra-bus.

Well, we laid a strip for the Jersey shore
And prepared to cross the line
I could see the bridge was lined with bears
But I didn't have a dog-goned dime.
I says, "Pig Pen, this here's the Rubber Duck.
"We just ain't a-gonna pay no toll."
So we crashed the gate doing ninety-eight
I says "Let them truckers roll, 10-4."

that's a bargain! I would have (tried to) break it and put a cast on for no less than $2500 ...

No. Well, yes, but no. We had to take our 9 month old to the ER about a month or so ago. Everything turned out fine. The doctor talked to us, didn't even examine her, they did the vitals, etc., and gave us some Pedialyte. ~$800.

I would hope you would get some sort of physical therapy for this to get the wrist back close to what it was before the break.

Me neither, but this poster art is awesome.

There were a bunch of the same image with credits & promo blurbs. My fav was the German version reading "Dies ist dies legende von Rubber Duck."

Another image (this time with rampaging trucks):http://www.vintagemovieposters.co.uk...onvoysmall.jpg

And a rather odd sexy-time lobby card (NSFW?): https://www.movieposter.com/posters/...ain/3/MPW-1755

Re: Snake with a broken wrist

Guess I need a lawyer now for this shit...*groan*

So after a while I'm finally getting therapy...finally. It's been interesting. The work HQ HR office lady I'd been talking to since all this started left late last month. This new HR lady I talk to is like trying to get something fixed w/ the DMV. Also... she's a bitch. Anyway... turns out this lady is trying to get me booted out of the company cuz of how slow treatment of my wrist has been. While my warehouse is fighting to keep me cuz I'm valuable to them, which is true but it was nice to hear that too.

Essentially since all this happened, I've been treated by the Ortho and I've asked for therapy and was told that it wasn't needed but also that we weren't close to where my wrist would to do it anyway. Well once this bitch comes into the picture, it's all kinds of hell coming my way.

We were in a conference call, myself and my HR guy here, and this bitch just isn't pleased w/ my progress. Add in that I'm beyond whatever period of rehabilitation the company. There was only so much I could do too cuz I ain't a Doc. So I can say what I want but if he thinks I wasn't there for it... I wasn't there for it. Now I am but this lady is looming over me hard about this shit. *sigh* Even when I explain it to her and she has all the paperwork from the Doc too. So I ain't lying. Anyway we're doing the call and from the way she was skidding around to how much the company has done for me and my progression blah blah, I just ask, "So what happens if I get let go? Cuz this is getting too hostile for me to get comfortable with over a conference call w/ just us 3 here talking." And that pretty much stops everything. Giving her the hint that I'll lawyer up if I need to.

So now I'm waiting to get a call from either my HR guy or this HR lady from HQ.

yaaaaaaaaaay.

The title of this thread sounds like a David Sedaris short story.

Re: Snake with a broken wrist

Sooooooo....

On Friday, I won a case against my former employer. And... uh...I got compensated very well. The company let me go, my warehouse was fighting it but HQ is...HQ, and then I got a lawyer from the University next to me. And after some huffing and some puffing of nothing from the company's lawyer, judge ruled in my favor that the company lacked the provided care and responsibility towards my broken wrist. And uh....I got a full year's compensation out of it pretty much. That's a lot of money. Like...I don't even spend that much money in a year kind of money.

Now I have to figure out how this works out for the Taxes I do next year. Uhhhhh.... I mean. I've worked 3 jobs for a while. My MAIN job pays very well. And this compensation is near what I get paid from the main job for like 8 months. I've had to kinda let it sink in my head. But this is crazy cool and very overwhelming to me.
