^ That’s pretty badass! Not $800 badass but badass nonetheless.

Re: Lego Talk!

There goes Lego again with their stock models.

"For the man rich enough and geeky enough to buy just this one Lego set. Yet sophisticated enough to totally ignore it and sit in a $1500 chair and read Nietzsche."

Re: Lego Talk!
I feel for that price they should have included a scale Snow Speeder. Would have made up for the 800 less pieces then the Millenium Falcon. I didn't realize the Star Destroyer was 2000 less pieces then the Millenium Falcon.

Re: Lego Talk!
I really don't get the Star Wars Lego stuff.
$800 is ridiculous for that thing. I'd rather spend a fraction of the money and get a more screen-accurate Hasbro AT-AT if I wanted an AT-AT.
And it's still vagina repellent.

I’m like you though, ultimately I would use it as a display piece and I’d rather have a more screen accurate model to display. $800 can buy you some pretty great pieces from Sideshow.
They’re all a bit too rich for my blood so I’ll continue to watch from the sideline.

Here's an article from Lego themselves. But this is from last year. They've since introduced the Titanic model which I think should be considered the biggest since it has 9090 pieces. More then the Coliseum and not almost entirely made of single studs like the world map they quote.

Re: Lego Talk!
Looks cool, but unnecessary. I still have my original Hasbro AT-AT. It was probably the coolest Star Wars toy I had as a kid. That being said, it is big, awkward and unwieldy to have on display and I assume this one will be pretty much the same, only more fragile.

Re: Lego Talk!
^ They thought of that. And for $800 they better have thought of that.
Once fully assembled, 6,785 pieces of Lego are very heavy, so to ensure the AT-AT can stand on its own four legs without them collapsing under the weight, the joints are made with a combination of Lego Technic turntable gears paired with worm gears. It ensures the joints won’t buckle, but it also means the legs can’t be posed by hand. Instead, an included brick-built tool that can be stashed inside the AT-AT is used to adjust the leg joints, one by one, for the perfect pose.

I built the Seinfeld set. Took about three days and a few hours while watching tv each day.
It’s nice but smaller then I expected.
Now it’s sitting on a desk near the front door otherwise not sure what to do with it.
Wife talked me into buying Central Perk.
