What's your favorite comfort food?

I dislike the term comfort food but I couldn't think of another word to convey what I needed to convey.

Anyway, what food do you want when you're feeling down or having a bad day or whatever?

Fast food: Taco Bell. Number 6 (Two chicken Chalupas and a crunchy taco) with an extra large Mountain Dew and a Nacho Bell Grande.

Home cooked: Chicken and dumplings. The way my mom used to make them. Chicken cut up in broth with pieces of of torn up canned-biscuits and chopped celery and carrots.

Fun poll!

Home cooking: Mac and cheese and fruit cobbler with ice cream for dessert.

Fast food: I guess I'd pick McDonalds #1. Their fries, man. Can't do better than them.

Fast Food: Um...ANY. I would seriously eat fast food every day if it wouldn't kill me within weeks.

Snack: Potato chips, BBQ or sour cream & onion.

Home Cooked: My special baked ziti.

A huge American-style breakfast. When I got back from three weeks in Asia, all I wanted was a fucking diner, stat.

by classy I meant more or less traditional I guess. No hipster 20-bean chili; just kidney beans, ground beef, chopped onion, tomato puree, the usual spices (he adds dry mustard and I've seen him add soy sauce occasionally. My dad's from the South. On a side note, when I cook chili I add Worcestershire sauce and liquid smoke) and a few splashes of hot pepper sauce. Sometimes he will include fine chopped green bell peppers, but it's more like a mood-ingredient.

Sometimes, country ham, eggs, biscuits and gravy satisfy like nothing else.
Fast food? A Krystal's number 1 combo works every time.

Re: What's your favorite comfort food?

Non-fast food burger and fries, or onion rings. Close second would be buttermilk pancakes and awesome coffee.

Re: What's your favorite comfort food?

Chili is a big one for me, either chili cheese fries or chili mac.

Mac 'n' cheese, and biscuits and gravy are also high on the list.

* My Mom's home cooking
* Decent quality Chinese takeout
* American-style traditional breakfast at a diner
* A good burger/sandwich with fries at a quality brewpub with a good pint.

Re: What's your favorite comfort food?

A big breakfast. Not healthy nor good for energizing me. If anything, it results in a day of napping. But I love a big morning breakfast at IHOP.

Re: What's your favorite comfort food?

fast food/take out--green curry, popia tod (egg rolly things), and thom ka kai (coconut soup) I miss being able to get takeout Thai (and Indian) food so very very much . . .

home made: no real favorite, but spaghetti, chili, and anything served with mashed potatoes and gravy are up there.
